How close to arrival can you DROP a Dining Plan?

Does anyone know how close to arrival date you can CANCEL the DxlDP on a DVC stay and still be refunded?

I'm sure the answer is somewhere ... but I can't find it and need to book travel insurance for our NYE trip within the next day or so. (Trying to figure out if I need to account for the DxlDP cost as well as our flights.)

I believe that it is 48 hours prior to add and drop the plan.

Thanks ... that is the timeframe I had in my head, but I have no idea where I got that info from ... probably from these boards!

Before you had to prepay for the DDPs you could drop it at check-in. We haven't used it since the prepaying went into effect, so I don't know what rules have changed.
