How can you make online ADRs w/out prepaying for dinner shows?

we want to do HDDR & SoA but do not want to pay in advance because we will be using DxDDP credits... is there any way to make the ADR online w/out paying in full? i understand the credit card deposit thing, but do not want to lay out over $600 for two meals four months away!

1 You usually will be charged.
2) They do not know you will positively use DDP for the show.
3) You can call and ask for a credit early.
4) SOMETIMES they grant it, other times not until the show time.

for the ones I have done, when i link it to my reservation, with the dining plan on it, it asks for the card number but no charge is made, as it recognises i have ddp credits.

Be logged into your account when you begin making your ADR. Then, there is a place to check a box that you want to link it to your DDP. You will still have to give them your CC info to hold the reservations. When I was making my ADRs there was a glitch and the box didn't come up sometimes. You can call & tell them you want to link the ADR to your DDP. Again, you'll have to give them your CC info. They actually just put do a $1.00 pre-approval on our account which just disappeared within a couple of days of making our ADR.

I tried to book Spirit of Aloha online with my reservation linked yesterday. They wanted to charge me all kinds of money.

I called Disney Dining and she pulled up my reservation, saw that I had DDP (I'm not even paid in full yet) and she made me a category 2 reservation with no charge to my CC.

She did need the number, though, in case we didn't go so they could charge us then!

I booked our reservation for our since rescheduled trip in Oct, online. Luckily I looked at my email right away. I accidentally put in the date as the day after I was was doing the booking. Since it was so close to the date, they automatically took the money out of my account. It was to be for Hoop De Doo. After a frantic tearful call to Disney reservations and a week waiting for them to reverse the money, all was well. I know it happened because I didn't realize I was no longer logged in.

I was on the phone this morning to make reservations for SoA and Hoop Dee Doo. Long story short, neither show was showing up for booking after Dec 31 so I couldnt make them. So I asked the cm on the phone if there was a way to book online without being charged. She said to make sure that when entering the reservation that it said "credit card guarantee" and not that your credit card was being charged. Sometimes it messes up and will charge your card even if you are booking with ddp so always double check the wording.
