Just realizing with all the styrofoam coffee cup nonsense.....that plastic bowls and stuff are the norm there now.

How can anyone heat up food in a plastic bowl.
Seriously.....how do they expect guest to use the microwave.

Excellent point. They should also remove the microwave, because without dishes there is no need for a microwave. :lmao:

I usually sent a few cans of Chef boy R dee down.....ya know so she dosen't miss mama's cookin:lmao:
Now I realize I cannot even heat it up....

Should I knock on my privileged 1BR neigbors door and ask if I can borrow a bowl:confused3

With apologies to 'This is the House That Jack Built" and with tongue firmly in cheek.

For want of some coffee the mug was lost.
For want of a mug the soap was lost.
For want of some soap the dishes were lost.
For want of the dishes the microwave was lost.
For want of a microwave the food was lost.
For want of some food the fridge was gone.
And all for the want of a cup of coffee.

Actually, they are paper bowls and plates (at least at OKW) and those do microwave OK. I use a similar sized paper bowl at home every morning for my oatmeal.

But styrofoam and plastics, on the otherhand, I have had melt all over the place in the microwave. :(

I don't really mind the paper plates & bowls, or even the plastic silverware, as I pack a couple of sharp kitchen knives for fruit, etc.

But the coffee mugs and glasses for juice really, really need to be ceramic/glass IMO. We need the dishsoap and sponge, too.

Keep it up the microwave will be next to go. :rotfl2:

But replaced by a couple of sticks to rub together for heat.:rotfl2:

They'll probably suggest heating our coffee up on the balcony.....ya know that sun is hot;)

yes definitely use the mircowave - but generally with something in one of the mugs.....

you know the real insult is that DVC has decided that we (members) aren't smart enough to use the soap and water and wash the glasses and mugs.

certain don't understand their reasons.

They are afraid to use straws at AK. Aren't they afraid of styrofoam cups
and paper plates being left on AKL balconies and the wind carrying them off the balconies into the savannah for the animals to graze upon? It will be like watching a windy baseball game with paper and cups flying around.:rolleyes1

It's really the sink they should remove. Without the soap and sponge to clean up after yourself, why bother to have a sink? Afterall, you can always get water from the sink in the bathroom.:rolleyes1

We bring microwavable plates from home and of course, a bowl for our microwave popcorn! -- Suzanne

Yes and we're only 1 flush away from fresh water:rolleyes1

It's really just a faux "kitchenette". There will really be nothing to be washed (without soap) that can't be washed in the bathroom sink! All you can do is RINSE and like i said, you can do that in the bathroom sink or tub! ;)

Come on now! This is an eco-friendly organization! They would much prefer you take the dishes into the shower with you to conserve water!
