How can they justify having to pay for parking?

They are not alone. Many hotels and resorts charge for parking. I live outside of Philadelphia and many of the hotels in center city charge $20 a night or more to park.

Stayed at Loew's Philadelphia.... $38/night to park :headache: .....and, NO self park available.

HHMMM wonder if they.ll start charging for toilet paper too:rotfl:

many major cities charge for parking when you stay at the hotels.

If you hate the parking fee, what about the 18% gratuity that is automatically charged at the pool bars. I walk up to the bar, buy five drinks for my family for $10 apiece and get forced to leave a $9 tip each trip I make to the bar. The way I see it is it's vacation and getting my wallet abused is much better than being at work.

So true but after a few adult drinks I don't think you will worry about the 18% gratuity :lmao:
Not until the next morning when you say hey where did all my money go ? :rotfl2:

So which of the Universal Preferred Hotels charge a parking fee? And does it matter if you have a car or not? :confused3

All three Universal hotels (PBH, HRH, RPR) charge for parking. If you don't have a car, you shouldn't be charged. If you are charged accidentally, have the front desk remove it. You'll be asked when checking in if you have a car.

While I tend to agree that paying for parking for people who stay in the resort is a little hard to swallow (would't be so bad if it were say, $5 or $6 a day, but $12 is a bit expensive!), I just think of how much I'm paying for the whole vacation and figure what's another $60 (five nights) on top of that. Of course, now that I think of it that could find my family for dinner one night, oh well, vacation's aren't cheap that's for sure, but they are still worth it! ;)

so there are no surprises, its $15 a night

thank you Mr Spock.......

you have to be a fan of that old tv show to get it..

I meant their partner hotels sorry. anyone know? :)

Click on the "About This Hotel" link for the hotel that you are interested in. I checked the first hotel on the page (Holiday Inn Hotel & Suite) and it indicated that its parking was complimentary.

Out of curiousity, I checked the second hotel (Doubletree) and it indicated:
Self Parking Yes, Fees May Apply
Valet Parking Yes, Fees May Apply

Thank you!! Couldn't find the info myself. :)

I think I'll start a new thread asking the homies which "partner hotels" they think are best. Thanks again. ;)
