How on earth can so many flights be sold out already on SW when they were just released.
5 flights are SOLD OUT between SWA and Airtran on Nov 10th from Orlando to Philly. This is Crazy. Are they really sold out!?

Ok, What is up! I just checked other return dates and they are all sold out like that. There is no way they are sold out! I now officially can't stand SW anymore!

They are having technical difficulty. Some including me are waiting for Wanna Get Way Flights to be even be available for a certain date. When I spoke with them earlier today they said it would be fixed this afternoon. Keeping my fingers crossed.

Looks like it's the flights operated by AT which are showing as being sold out. Those flights are available for booking on Air Tran's website.

Probably a systems issue.

I was just sitting here thinking about it. There has to be something wrong, there is no way they sold out like that.

Thanks everyone, I'll keep checking.

I can't wait to get this trip booked an stop thing about it.
Flights are the last thing I need.

The Sold Outs are the Airtran flights.

That said, the Wanna Get Away prices are MOSTLY not there. They have loaded SOME since this morning. They are VERY expensive, depending on the day. Like the Sunday after Thanksgiving.

We have to adjust the day some of our group is flying. It's cheaper for them to pay for a hotel/food than pay HUNDREDS extra for each person in airfare. :sad1:

I've seen this happen other times of the year too, and this was before the AirTran acquisition. I think sometimes groups grab entire flights before they get released to the public. Just a guess, though.

That stinks on the Wanna Get Away fares! That's what I was hoping for, and paid more than I wanted to as they were showing as sold out. We can't switch dates, as our kids have such a limited amount of time off of school.

The wanna get away price for SW at 7:20 is showing sold out too. I hope that is a tech problem too. That is the flight I was hoping for.:sad2:

I actually wound up booking on a combination or Rapid Rewards points and cash, and the Air-Tran ones were avail too that way. But I still spent a lot more than I planned. We got spoiled by low fares for so long I guess.

Southwest is showing all the AirTran flights as sold out for my route/dates as well and what's more aggravating is that the AirTran site shows NO AirTran flights at all - only Southwest ones, which cannot be booked through AirTran. Has been like this all day.

I wonder if it is specific to airports? I logged into my SW account this morning around 7:30 AM and everything was available. We do not have Airtran, only SW.

When I checked the SWA website this morning, almost all the morning flights were sold out for my travel date of Nov 30rd. I just checked about 1/2 hour ago and all those flights are now open. I don't know what was going on, but I have my morning flight now. :)

Well all the Airtran flights opened up, but the one SW flight at 7:20 wanna get away is still showing sold out. Could it really have sold out this morning?

Our dates are Nov 7-12. I checked yesterday morning via the app and I'm glad I did. At 6:45am, the one non-stop option from GRR-MCO (at 2:45pm) was 4,740 points. The one non-stop option from MCO-GRR (at 2:25pm) was also 4,740 points. Later in the evening, after I got home from work, I looked again and now the Wanna Get Away fares are showing SOLD OUT. The Anytime fares are 36,900 per person EACH WAY:faint:.

I also checked the AirTran site and they are showing no flights available for booking. The AT site lists two flights each day, both operated by SWA and no non-stop option. As a first-time SWA customer, I am curious as to what is going on. The flights that I booked are still there, but with no more WGA fares available. Were there that many people who wanted those fares or were there only a few seats available at that cost? I booked at 6:45am and I checked again around 7pm and the cheap fares were gone. Either way, I am so glad that I did not do my typical procrastination:goodvibes. I'm very excited that I was able to book DH and I on non-stop flights that don't leave too early or arrive too late. The times ar perfect AND it was less than 19,000 points total:thumbsup2.

ETA: I just went back to the website and looked at our dates using just ONE passenger and it is again showing the WGA fare as being available. Maybe that means there is only one seat left at that price?? When I changed it back to two passengers, it showed SOLD OUT.

SWA is showing available AirTran flights for booking for my route but when I look up the same on AirTran, nothing is available to book. Is this the start of the phase out?

Glad that you got your rate/route and booked it ASAP! I try to always book SW immediately if I find what I am looking for. Quite often the prices will change as quickly as yours did. Although there have been times a better rate has been offered in a sale months after but overall booking ASAP has worked out well for me.

The whole system seems to be wonky at the moment. A lot of people are reporting these types of things. I know a few months back a booked flight of mine actually disappeared for a weekend and it had to do with the Air Tran merger.

Also with SW not offer the lower Wanna Get Away Fares on 12/1 who knows what else may be coming. I am for certain no expert although we fly SW all the time. Like everyone else will just wait to see how it plays out.
