If I have 2 adults and 3 kids on the plan...are the credits split up between adults and kids? For instance...can we use some of the kids credits for adult quick service meals? We plan on sharing some of our meals with friends that arent on a plan.
Also...have I read that the kids can order off of the adult menu? That seems too good to be true. Thanks for any info

QS adult and child credits are of equal value. Child can orde adult meals and adults can order kids meal at QS places. But not at TS place.

Just to be clear...for every night we get 3 adult table meals and 3 child table meals? Can we use a child's table meal for an adult quick meal?

"Normally" we would not use a TS credit on a QS restaurant if on the DxDDP but if you do use your dining plan at a QS it would take it from the pot . But It would make better sense to pay out of pocket at QS.:) Each of your adult TS credits are worth over 37$. A QS is much less. Have a great trip!

You will have 3 credits per day per person. The credits are not divided between child credit and adult credit. They are interchangeable. You can use your credits in any manner you choose. If your child wants an adult meal, at either a TS or CS restaurant, it is okay to ask. The policy varies, but most TS restaurants will allow a child to order from the adult menu.

"The policy varies" is very important to understand regarding child credits at TS restaurants on the DxDDP. Not all will allow a child to order from the adult menu. If they allow, fantastic! But it is not a sure thing. At QS, no problem as the credits will be interchangeable.

That's great to know!!! I wonder if Coral Reefs allows my child to order from adult menu.

I am not sure, but you can ask. Please remember that this is left up to individual restaurant policies, so your child may need to order from the children's menu.

Since they have changed the policy and allow sharing credits with those not on the plan do you think we could order 8 adult table meals when our plan has 2 adults and 3 kids?

You can use however many credits you want per meal, but it is still going to take it from your overall total meal credits. I was on the regular DDP (not DxDDP). Mine had two adults, my SIL was a single adult on her own plan. Our server had trouble scanning my Magic Band at one meal (my husband's didn't work either), so my SIL just put all of our meals on hers. Later in the trip, we went to Hollywood Brown Derby and we paid for her meal (it's signature, so 2 TS credits per person). Just remember that if you are using 8 at credits at one meal, you will have to pay OOP for 3 meals at another time (which may or may not be important to you).

Thanks. We were just thinking that 3 table meals a day is too much food and too much time. So splitting a plan for 5 people with 8 people is an excellent way to use it. We won't even get the 8 meals maybe we can share 6 of them. Some portions are just too much. And we appetizers also.

May I just ask-
What prompted your decision to choose deluxe plan over the regular dining plan?

As indeed,as you stated-it's a lot of food:)

There are 8 of us going this year in December. Well...we have two rooms. 3 adults in one and two adults and three kids in the other. So if the one room with the kids gets the deluxe plan and the other room doesn't get a plan at all...the way I am understanding this is we all can share the credits and it won't be too much food when it's used by 8 of us and not just the original 5. Make sense?

Yes, it is do-able but for me it would be a logistical nightmare and you will have to pay out of pocket for some meals .:headache::)pixiedust:

It all makes sense-have fun sharing out your credits.:teeth:

I also thought that getting appetizers with our meals that we won't even get 8 meals. With 3 kids we will only get 6 adult meals and share.

Via Napoli won't let you do this and of course you will have to pay for everyone at all buffets/aycte/character experience meals. But yes otherwise that works :)

Lisa F - I am with you - I love doing spreadsheets and the planning. We are DVC members and tried to do OOP last time and although I had put money on a pre-paid Visa, I still ran out. I want things planned and paid!
