My poor DD has 4 ant bites and they have been itching her for about 3 days now. I tried some kind of cortisone anti-itch cream, some other spray stuff, baking soda---nothing is helping. Do you know of any home remedies? Or, anything from the store that really works? Thanks!

Here is the strangest home remedy I have ever heard of - and it actually helped for a bit - some may think it a bit gross - but if you have a dog have them lick the spots.

hmmm..... if your serious, I'd try it---the dogs germs havent killed any of us yet... But, I don't think I could get him to lick them!!

When I was a kid and I got fire ant bites, a little rubbing alcohol did the trick....it seemed to soothe it. Just don't do this if the bites have been scratched raw. Now we use Afterbite Kids...it seems to work pretty good.

Thank you!! And, yes, she has scratched them open, so that might be why everything is irritating her more.

Rubbing alcohol stings, but takes the itch away.

Make an oatmeal paste or take a swim in a heavily chlorinated pool or the ocean if you are close enough.

I'm really sensitive to bites and use oral benadryl. It's the only thing that helps, ointments etc just don't.
