How can I retrive a PM?

Received email notifitcation of a new PM. When I clicked on the link, the pm screen said I had no messages. Does this mean the sender deleted the PM prior to my reading it?
 
I can't explain that one. Maybe JC will have the answer. He'll probably check in in the morning.
