How can I make sure I have a non-smoking room?

So, my fiance and I are planning a trip to Disney for March. He's never been, and this is going to be my first trip without my dad doing all the planning, so we went to a travel agent to help us out.

The problem is, our paperwork never says if we have a non-smoking room or not. He has really bad allergies and probably couldn't handle a smoking room, and being newbies we didn't think to ask the travel agent to request that for us.

I was wondering if anyone could point us in the right direction as to the best place to call to make sure that we get the kind of room we need.

Have non-smoking--medically necessary(have severe allergies) to the reservation, and there should be no problem.

I have these issues and this is what I do. Before and after DVC.

Yes, call back and have them add it as medically necessary. I did that for severe asthma and my ressie does say non-smoking guaranteed on it.

Have a medical reason you cannot stay in a smoking optional room.

I've made no-smoking requests, and got no-smoking rooms each time, they're really good about that.

I made the request also, and they didn't give me a problem. I don't have allergies, but I hope they follow through b/c I can't stand the stink!

Non Smoking rooms are not guaranteed if requested. Hoever, if you need it for a medical reason, they will guarantee it.

I had my travel agent request a non-smoking room for me at the Poly and the reservation confirmation that I received indicated that I was guaranteed a non-smoking room. To my knowledge, she did not have to specify a medical reason for the guarantee. A non-smoking request may be especially easy to gurantee at the Poly since several of the longhouses are completely smoke free.
