So my boyfriend and I are going to Disneyland on Sunday, May 24- through Thursday the 28th. I know that memorial day is that monday, which i'm prepared for it to be very busy. But how busy do you think it will be tuesday-thursday? I am nervous and I wish we hadn't planned it to be this weekend but oh well. What do you think?

We arrive Monday morning and leave Thurs. night the week of Memorial Day. We are hoping for lower crowds Monday evening through Thurs., mostly because school will still be in session for most people and they will also have to go back to work on Tues. - so we are hoping for lighter crowds Monday night. :rolleyes1

I am sooo excited and just can't wait. I finally started to get some things ready - but I have to do it quietly/sneakily since my kids don't know we are going!!! Shhhh, don't tell! :flower3:

Haven't been at that time myself, but wisdom seems to be it is busier leading up to the weekend than afterwards - that seems to be the case with the park hours anyway.

thank you both! i was pretty worried but i didn't realize that most schools aren't out yet. i'm in college and we go by a whole different schedule than the schools here in Arizona. and brady's mom i am excited too! it's like an obsession, i am starting to watch recorded rides on youtube because i can't wait! we are getting the 5 day park hopper at 3 day price, and going sunday through thursday and leaving thursday around 3 or so to go home. 16 more days!

ok...so sunday and monday will be very busy. You might want to plan to do shows, and fast pass rides those days, leaving your magic morning till tuesday to do fantasyland type rides.

Sunday is a MM day as well, so you could do it then, but it will be a much more crowded Mm, hence waiting for Tuesday.

You will have plenty of time to see everything, even with those busy first days. Remember to go early whenver possible.

thank you so much! i was expecting that they would be pretty busy, and we're going to use the magic morning on thursday so we can do as much as we can before we have to drive back on thursday. =)

does anyone know if they have bike racks at disneyland? we were kind of hoping we could bring our bikes and ride them from our hotel to disneyland, cause the walk is pretty long.

Traditionally it would be very busy, but this year has been very different. Both President's Day and Easter Day (I was there both days) were quite empty, while the Sundays after each of those days had the parking lots close down by around 1PM because they were at capacity. The thing is, crowds this year are more geared towards locals than tourists, and locals tend to have SoCal APs which are blocked on holidays.

However, Memorial Day "launches" the summer travel season, and President's Day and Easter are weekend holidays.

I would nonetheless prepare for a crowd, but this year's trend has been smaller crowds on holidays which are blocked to SoCal AP holders.
