How busy will it be during the day at MK EMH night?

We were thinking of spending the day at MK after our cruise in Nov. I was looking at the park hours and found out that it is an EMH night. We like to get there right at opening and get as much done early in the day as possible. I am now a little concearned that MK will get really busy as the day goes on. I have only had one experience with EMK night and that was at MGM. The lines were longer at MGM EMH night than they were during the day. Should we do MK another day?

YES!! Think of all the families without park hoppers...they will try to maximize their day at MK by staying till the very end.

I suggest avoiding MK that day, but that's just my opinion. Anyone else.....?

Have to agree, anytime one of the parks has an evening EMH it seems that the lines are always longer. We did this recently at EC, we wished we had stayed at MK. We could not believe how long the lines were and how crowded the evening EMH park was.

I'm curious to hear others opinions as well. I'm not a morning person so I would prefer the evening EMH and I would think the parks wouldn't be that bad b/c of the little ones staying up so late.

I always go to AM EMH (virtually every day of the trip that we did not do a PM EMH late the night before)... never ONCE regretted an AM EMH... they are amazingly empty and easy to ride the open attractions.
If that park THEN starts to fill 2 to 3 hours later... WHO CARE'S?
Were happy with "doing" that park for the day and we can HOP elsewhere or do lunch and take a rest until later.

PM EMH's are a mixed bag. I've been when they were PACKED... but on other nights (sometimes within the same trip), the crowds were basically so low that it was like "free rides" on all the open attractions.

Those who have attended PM EMH's and say that "they are TOO CROWDED" are right... but ONLY for the nights they may have attended.
I can say, from personal experience, that they CAN be EMPTY, or FULL or somewhere IN-BETWEEN for attendance, often within the same week.

It can change so much (either way), that saying it was "like X" on a given night, can be meaningless on another night in the same time-period. So, you simply don't KNOW unless you go.
Its similar to saying that you attended on a given night and it rained, so guests should never go on that night because it will probably be rainy.

And, considering EMH's are FREE to attend... if its busy, just people-watch or hit the exit (where ELSE are ya gonna go at 10pm, anyway?)
But if its not busy... you're ALL SET for EXTRA FUN!

I don't see any problem. I've been there twice in Nov. and the crowds were always very low. Actually the only ride I can think of that I waited more than 10 or 15 minutes for was Peter Pans Flight. Everything else had very short lines.

I am to fly in on a MK EMH. Since I have heard it is very busy during that time, my plans are to ride the Liberty Belle Riverboat, the TTA and the Train around Magic Kingdom. Just take it easy is my plan. :thumbsup2

I went after Labor on the 10th of September last year and i really enjoyed mk
emh at night. I walked onto alot rides and had alot of fun.Next week i am doing the same! :goodvibes

Thanks for all the replies. MK is my kids favorite park. SDince we are only there for three nights we are really attempting to make the most of it.

We arrived on Sun. 8/27 and headed to the MK. It was an evening EMH night and it was crazy, crazy busy when we got there (1 pm) until we left about 5 pm for dinner. We didn't return since the lines were so long.

On our last day - Sept 3, same thing...EMH evening hours at MK. We got there at 8:30 am and it was fairly slow. By the time we left at noon, the lines for Peter Pan were 75 minutes, Pirates 60 minutes, and 75 minutes for Splash.

It was like that last year when we were there too. We don't ever stick it out long enough to see what it's like after the fireworks though...I can't ever force myself to stay with the large crowds for that long.

I am wondering the same thing. We are going the week after Thanksgiving and several of our planned days for parks fall on evening EMH's. I am hoping that the week is slow enough that it will not get crowded. If so, we have park hoppers so we can go elsewhere.

I shy away from EMH, AM and PM, simply to avoid the crowds. I prefer less people. The non EMH parks let me get there later and leave at a reasonable time (for me) and have plenty of park time in between.

Heather, jjust had to comment on your name animation, very pretty!! :thumbsup2

Thanks again for the replies. I think we will most likely switch our Epcot and MK day. We will only have two full days and two half days. We have done the EMH morning and it was not a problem, I was just really concearned about that it might be like it was at MGM last visit. Thanks everyone!

Dan,
Thanks for the compliment on the name design. Julia & Nicks Mom from the creative design board made it. She is very talented!
