how busy @ WDL in Jan?

I'm assuming you mean DL (Disneyland) we don't call it Walt disneyland.LOL The third week in January should be pretty good. i think everyone is back in school. January and February are usually always good.

There is a new Disneyland race happening January 27-30 I think. Not sure how the races effect crowds.

I was wondering how the race would effect crowds. We plan to go Jan 16-21, but if I can't get the time off from work we were thinking of doing it the last week of Jan. It seems like the races should effect crowd levels mainly because after looking at the race map, it looks like everyone will be running through the parks. I'm guessing this also might effect ride closures, but I have no idea.

I'm pretty sure the races don't happen during park hours. I plan on running the 5k and its scheduled for 10:30pm, after the park has closed for the day. As for the 1/2 I think they do the park segments before opening.

Trying to hold a race and operate the park at the same time would be a logistical nightmare.

Lol, the thought hadn't even occurred to me that the races might be before or after park hours. Good to know, thanks! :thumbsup2

I was there for 5 days this past Jan (the 19th to be exact) and it was awesome! IASW and Splash Mountain were closed, but that was about it.

Mid week the waits were nearly nonexistant. Even rides like Indiana Jones and Space Mountain had very short 15 minute waits. The weekend was a little more crowded, but still totally manageable. The nights ended up getting quite chilly but we had nice and warm weather during the day.

Overall fantastic experience and we would totally go that time of year again! :)
