How Busy Sept 24-Oct 1 due to specials

I have to laugh at the "what about the hurricanes?!" people.

Last I checked, they don't rise up out of nothing like tornadoes and earthquakes. You get a certain amount of notice. By the time we actually fly down there we'll know if there's even a remote chance of one. Worst case scenario, there'll be one imminent and we'll have to track the weather all week.

There are many more things that "might" happen at any given time to ruin a vacation. No point in borrowing trouble!

wow, this is so cool. we'll both be in WDW at the same exact time! our trip is from sept. 24 to oct. 1 too!! we were there at that same time last year and the crowds weren't big at all. the crowds are small, the weather is beautiful and you're just guaranteed to have a great time. i don't know how things will be with the dining plans but i hope it'll be the same like last year. what hotel are you staying at?

I'm one of those that wouldn't have gone but for the dining plan. LOL We'd just returned PAYING for the dining plan... when I saw free dining well it just MADE me go plan another trip. Forced me I tell ya. LOL

I'm going to be there Sept 28-Oct 3rd (much shorter trip this time... exactly when the kids are out of school) and I'm not worried about the crowds. I don't see HOW it could be any busier than it was mid June our last trip! Surely not..... :)

Now I hadn't really (in denial maybe?) thought of DEATH while there (hurricanes in sept = death) but thanks for pointing that out. (I think I felt a gray hair pop up just now... I'm a worrier LOL) Was it late Sept? I hope we don't get caught in a hurricane. :(

Based on the input from around here and on some other notable Disney / Theme Park forums, I would expect the parks to be much more crowded this year at that time. It seems like the crowds in general are up significantly over last year, and the free dining option certainly isn't going to help that! I'm hoping that we'll at least have one good night of 'rides' at MK during MNSSHP! We'll be there 9/25 - 10/2.

I'm going 9/24-10/1 as well and I'm hoping the crowds arent too bad. We went last year in Nov 5th -12th and it was pretty crowded most people said they had rebooked due to the hurracaines...

I called today to see if we could get CBR for an extra night 9/23 and they told me it was sold out, so I'm hoping CBR wont be packed all week this would make it hard to get on buses right??

I'm thinking that if you dont do the EMH parks you should be ok since this promotion is only for Disney Resorts most people will be trying to do the EMH... :confused3 I'ts worth a shot!

Either way were are confirmed and have purchased our airline tickets today so we are coming wether or not it is busy..

:cheer2: :cheer2:

We are booked October 3rd through 9th. :cheer2: We probably wouldn't have been able to do it except for free dining, seeing as how we went for a quickie 2 night stay at POP in January and 9 nights at Dolphin in March! But now were going back for 6 nights to ASMu. YAY! :cool1: As for the crowds, I am not worried at ALL. We went during Easter week this year (March 21 - 30th) and crowds were a zillion times worse than they could ever be in October... and we had the BEST time anyways... As long as you work FPs and PS's, crowds don't make that much of a difference, IMHO. Have great trips! See some of you there! :wave2:

I heard about the free dining here on the Dis boards. However I don't get the newspaper so it could very well have been in the paper, just don't know it.

I assume it will be busier this year in October than what I am used to going after Thanksgiving where I normally go. But we shall see. We are doing so many fun things that we have never done before I think it will be worth it.

Noteably:
FQ - never been there
WCC, Boma, the new Garden Grill, and HDDR.
Illuminations cruise
MNSSHP
F/W Festival.

I think it will be a blast.

Congrats to you too. When will you be going?
We will be there 9/24 thru 10/1. I am so excited! It will be our first trip and the girls are at the perfect princess ages-3 and 5. It should be a really nice time.

We booked our resort in July 2004 for our trip this September. The free dining was just a bonus!

However, I am getting a little concerned about crowds. The last time we went (Feb2003) we have pictures of us in EPCOT with no people in the background because there were no crowds. I don't mind 15 minute waits in line, but much more than that I will be :sad

We too have been spoiled with no crowds in Sept. We go every year the last week and last year (with the hurriciane was actually busier in my opinion....several people we spoke with evacuated to WDW because they had APs). This year I am expecting more people. We will be there 9-23 thru 10-2.
