How busy right after New Year's?

We are thinking of going to the parks either the week of Jan 5-9 or the week of Jan 12-16. We would like to catch the end of the Christmas decor (Jan 6) and go Jan 5-9, but if it will be significantly busier than the Jan 12-16 week, we may just go then instead. There are also a lot of closures happening the week of the 12th. School starts back for most kids on Jan 5, so I would expect that would cut down some on crowds. Any idea how the 2 weeks will compare with each other as far as crowds go? Thanks!

The 15th-18th is the Star Wars half marathon weekend, and it's a holiday weekend. So while the 5th and the 6th will be crowded with people trying to get their last look at Christmas decor and AP blockouts ending, the 7th-9th will be much better than the 15th-16th of the following week.

How crowded do you think it will be on the 5th and 6th? Anything like the week between Christmas to New Years? Like a typical off season weekend? Like a holiday weekend?

It depends on how many local schools have that week off, which I don't know off hand. But typically, when AP block outs begin or end, and when holidays end, the crowds will start to build in the afternoon. There is no such thing as an off season weekend, it will be closer to spring break level by after school/after work times.
