How busy is June 4-11th? Getting worried...

We have 3 kids (DS 8, DD 6, DD4) and have only taken them during slow times (Jan, early Feb., Nov). I have reservations for June 4-11 this year. My son's teacher covers alot of material, and thought I might not want to take him out of school this year, so I planned to leave immediately after school lets out. I know it will be hotter and busier than we are used to, but I thought early June wasn't so bad. Now I read the "crowd level" chart referred to on an earlier post and am getting scared off. June 4 is rated a 5 and each day after is a 6 or a 7.

Do you think I should re-schedule? :sunny:

It's only going to get busier as the summer moves on, so if you have do go during summer, June is probably your best bet. Keep in mind that Gay Days is during the first part of your vacation, so that will affect different parks on different days. Most definitely, you'll want to stay away from MK on Saturday (June 6), as the majority of the GD crowds will hit then. I'd also avoid Pleasure Island on June 5 and 6.

It's going to be busy, but I don't think it's anything to be scared of. We went that week last year...and I really never wanted to do June again, but we are this year too. It's hot and it's crowded, but it's disney! As long as you plan for it, there won't be a problem. Know it will be hot and crowded. Plan for afternoon breaks. Decide the most important rides and shows, etc. that you want to see and plan everything around those. You will not be able to do everything you want each day unless you plan for it. Use fastpasses and plan your day around the most important things. As long as you are prepared, you can still enjoy your trip. We've done June and Christmas, and have still enjoyed our trips regardless of crowds because we're prepared for them.

We will be there the same time you are. I just found out that Star Wars weekends at MGM will be during the 4th /5th and 11th/12th. As long as you (and us!) avoid MGM on the weekends I've been told it won't be too bad. We usually go in July and I can't imagine it would be more crowded than it is then.

Hey WDSearcher Saturday is the 4th. I know this because it's our arrival day!!! ;) We've been there early June for the past several years and we love it. This year our trip is June 4-14 and we're so excited!!!

We went last year at this time and it was actually less crowded than the 2 weeks we went at the end of April. I have 3 boys and we had a great time!!

This used to be the time we went most often, and as someone else has said, this part of June is the best part of the summer (with heat and crowds). It will be more crowded than you are used to, but there will probably be better hours and more things open. It never seemed as busy as spring break, either.

Just chiming in to say we'll be there from the 4th to the 13th as well :) Where are the rest of you all staying? We'll be at AKL.

We'll be at Pop Century!!! I sure wish the time would pass just a little more quickly.

We are going the same week! Staying at OKW for the first time :flower:

Anyway- I agree that the crowds are not nearly as bad as in March and April. The only unusual thing that I can remember from being there this time of year is that it is winter break time for Brazilian college students. They move around the parks in huge packs-but are very polite and not crazy at all. Plan a way to take a long, cool break everyday and you will be fine! :goodvibes

We are going then too, June 4 - 12. I am nervous about it. We always went off season before. I am trying to plan our days right now. Any of you have yours worked out yet? We are staying at Days Suites in a 2 BR 2 BA as there are 6 of us going. Got a great rate too, but I digress... any tips from you all would be welcome!

We will be there June 2-11 at BCV!! We have visited WDW during early June for the past three years and we have found the crowds to be very manageable. Last year was more crowded than in the previous two years but still not bad. If you are staying onsite then definitely take advantage of the EMH. A little planning and FastPass will be your best friend. If Spectro and Fantasmic! are offered twice any evening during your visit, go to the later one. The later ones are much less crowded and you won't have to waste precious park time staking out good seats or waiting in a huge throng of humankind. You will probably need to stake out spots for Wishes and Illuminations 1.5-2 hours ahead. Try to get a PS for breakfast before the park opens--we ate at CP last year and then headed for Fantasyland as soon as the park opened. We were able to ride almost everything before the crowd caught up to us. Hope to see all of ya'll there

For those of you that usually go in June: How late is World Showcase usually open? Is it 11:00? And will Illuminations be at 11?

Just wondering because we've always gone Sept., Oct. or Nov. and have eaten dinner at Rose & Crown so we could watch Illuminations from there at 9:00. But I can't imagine waiting until 11:00 to eat.

We're staying at Port Orleans French Quarter.

:rotfl2: Well, we also have plans to go back to WDW June 6-10! Missed it last year and just can't stay away. The 50th celebration will add to the crowds, no doubt, but it's such a great time of the summer to go. Some schools will not be out yet and some will. It's just hit or miss - but we love it at that time. See you there!

June 7th to 16th, not really looking forward to it because we are so used to September /October crowd levels. Since we always go touring very prepared I hope that it will lesson the wait times and we won't be walking in circles.

Thank you Debbiedoo. That's the answer I was hoping for. I don't know where I read or why I thought that World Showcase is open til 11 during the summer.

We went the first week of June for years....it is probably the best week of the summer....the heat seems more oppressive to me than the crowds....

don't know how this will work woth your kids schedules...but if you are staying on site be at one park when it opens....stay until everyone is hot and tired and the thought of your nice air conditioned room or the hotel pool sounds better than another line/ride and leave, go take a nice long break. Nap and swim and then head back after an early dinner....

I have no idea how people that stay off site do it in the summer!! As much as I love WDW if I had to go in the summer and stay off site I'm not sure I would go at all!! I always needed that mid day break....in June the heat really drains you.
