How busy is it in Aug when parks close

Can anybody tell me how long approx it would take to get out of the carpark in August after the park close? We are considering staying at DCR so would need to be driving out each evening. Also how long does it take to walk from the carpark to the parks? If we use EMH is it a bit quiter to come in?

Just tidying up any loose ends and I see this has gone unanswered so ...............................

I'm sure others have mentioned that when using EMH they are in the car parks so early that they can park much closer to the parks and they don't even need to use the moving walkway.

Just had a thought. Weren't you thinking of buying APs? If you buy a Dream AP you can park in the hotel car parks (except DLH). So you could park in Hotel New York's car park.

thanks for the answer, all change now! we are getting AP's and hoping to get an onsite hotel using the discount. But if not we will stay at an off site hotel, decided to wing it this time and just wait to see what happens. It goes against every instinct in me but hey you have to live dangerously sometimes

Longest I've waited was about 5 mins, mainly due to bad drivers rather than bad organisation.

We used to leave when the park closed but then maybe spend half an hour or so lloking round Disney Village or even leave the park half an hour early to beat any traffic but it really wasn't worth it tbh
