How Busy is IOA in December?

I'm really sorry if I can find this information elsewhere but I'm not sure where to look!

DBF and I are planning to explore IOA on December 21 (a Wednesday). How busy can IOA get a mere four days before Christmas?

We're staying at the Loews Royal Pacific Resort so we will have the front of the line access and early entrance to WWOHP so I'm not worried about not being admitted if park reaches capacity (no idea if this is an issue at Universal). I'm just curious what past experiences have been crowd-wise at IOA around this time?

Was there Dec. 18 in 2009, also had FOTL - didn't need it. We left the next day. However, I understand that the crowds begin increasing the closer to Christmas you get, then explode Christmas day and beyond.

Given the fact that Christmas is on Sunday, expect crowds by Wednesday that will increase each day through Sunday. Not to worry though, with FOTL and early entry to WWOHP you'll be fine.

I am not sure if Universal does a staged lock down when the parks are very crowded - I know Disney does.

The parks will be busy (especially IOA) during that week but should be manageable. Just be aware...on 12/26 the madness begins and you don't want to be at any theme park during that time.
