I am all booked to go to DLP from the 10th-14th next March.
I just wondered if anyone could tell me how busy the parks are that time of year and what sort of temperatures i can expect???

The last time i went was the second week in November 1992 and the parks were really quiet. I think if i remember rightly the waiting time for the Indiana Jones coaster was 10 mins. Some of the rides were even walk ons.

We stayed at the same time this year and the parks were reasonably busy as the offer for staying an extra night for three - I think it is a similar period for 2008.

However examples of rides varied:
Indiana Jones + POTC were walk on and quite a few times actually allowed to stay on

Buzz and BTM needed FP as queues were about 30 - 45 minutes

Didn't manage to get on Dumbo as queues were always long.

Autopia was the longest we queued which was for about an hour.

Weather was very warm about 20 degrees so walked about in t-shirts but sometimes needed fleeces in morning and definitely needed coats from about 5pm.

Have done March 2004, March 2006 and March 2007.

2004 was absolutely freezing with sleet and 2006 was dry and sunny most days, but cold. These 2 hols were around the 12th - 17th of the month. This year we were there at the very end of the month and it was cold and raining.
I'd say unpredictable is the key, and go prepared for the worse, then anything else is a bonus.
Parks are quite busy at this time especially if it's the Kids Go Free week combined with the extra night free, expect wait times of half an hour or so for the popular rides like BTM and Buzz. For Fantasyland rides we have always had the Good Morning Fantasyland breakfast so that we can get those over with before the crowds.

Weather wise when we went in march 06 it was freezing but I've heard that it can be sunny too:confused3 We had on hats, scarves, gloves 'normal clothes' and a thick coat/jacket.
We went in january and my mum even wore her jammies under her jeans cause it was even colder then!:rotfl:

we done March 2006, the week after you are going.

it was reasonable - not dead but not heaving. The weather was nippy - i wore a heavy jacket and the others wore layers and at night fleece or leather jackets.

my best advice is definitely skirts and not long jeans that drag, and knee high boots or at least waterproof shoes. at least if it then rains (which is always a bit of a drag!) you won't get wet feet and trousers!

hrmm, perhaps not the greatest of advice for the guys though!

in my opinion anyway, a much better time to go than at easter - cheaper, quieter and the weather is not unbearable as long as you dress for it!

Thanks for all your replies. Looks like i will have to take a mixture of everything clothing wise.
Glad the parks aren't too busy that time of year. I can live with wait times of 30-45 minutes. Don't think i would want wait times of over an hour though, especially if it is cold.
Last time i only went for 3 nights and we managed to do all the rides easy at least 2 or 3 times. Phantom Manor was closed so i am hoping that is open this time round and also Autopia.

I was there in March 1996 (last century lol) the weekend before Easter and it was SO crowded the shortest queue was about 30 minutes, Big Thunder Mountain about 1 hour and so on. But as i said it was a weekend and most of all the one just before Easter.

Weather wise: was freezing cold, i had to wear my then 10 years old son with two shirts - one over the other - a wollen top plus his jacket and he was still feeling cold. For myslef, i wished so many times i had out in the luggage scarfs and gloves and hats and other wintery stuff lol :santa:

But as the others have said weather in Paris can be funny, it was not so warm for me in June either (1999) and last week we had a couple of warm days and three very cold days :confused3
