hi

i have made a few ps's for our trip in sep but would like to go to a few other places to eat in wdw finances permitting. i quite fancy chef mickeys and wondered how busy it is and whether i need a ps for september or if a could just walk in. does anyone know this. i also fancy rainforest cafe so the same applies. i have got a few ps's and dont really want to be tied to anymore set times.

It depends on when in September and how many people. We usually go in Sept and rarely make PS's at all and have never had a problem getting into a restaurant we wanted. We always do Chef Mickey's atleast once for our DS. Usually only Me, DH and DS and we go early. In Sept. we have never been turned away from CM even at later hours. You may have a short wait but you can probably get in with a small party.

thanks thats really useful info.

were going on sep 13th. what time would you say was early? 3-4 pm maybe??

We usually go between 4:45-5:15ish. They aren't open for lunch so I'm not sure what time they start seatings for dinner. I think it's 5PM, but I'm not sure. Have a great time!

We always go in Sept. and the crowds are really light when it is decent weather outside. I say this because there have been a couple of times where the weather turned stormy/rainy and the restaurants filled up to capacity.

One year we wanted to go to Chef Mickeys, in Sept., and the night we wanted to go it was raining and just plain soggy. Well, we didn't get into the restaurant because it was packed. Another year, we had a ps for Tony's Town Square and the weather went from sunny to stormy really fast and everybody scattered to the nearest shelter and because it was dinner time tons of people scattered to Tonys. Well, we had a ps, but we still had to wait and enormous amount of time.

So.....I always make ps's so my kids don't get disappointed. I can handle not being able to go to a restaurant, but my kids would be so sad!!!! Luckily, the year we got turned down for Chef Mickeys my DD was only 2 and didn't know what Chef Mickeys was so she wasn't disappointed. Now at 6 yrs old and 4 WDW trips later, she does know the place, and would be greatly disappointed. I vote to make the ps, you can always cancel it if something else comes up.

We went in September a few years ago and went to Chef Mickey's at around 6 p.m. and only had to wait 15 minutes without a PS. They give you a thing that vibrates, so we just went looking around the Contemporary until it went off.
