How busy is BDL for a Saturday afternoon?

I'm flying on Song next Saturday out of Hartford, CT, for a 3:45pm flight. I've never taken a flight this time of day and wondered how much time I should allow at the airport. My husband is one who likes to be early(you know, in case of accident on highway, yada, yada yada) but I don't feel like sitting for 2 hours in an airport. Will I leave myself enough time if I get to the off-airport parking place for 2:15 or so?

BDL is a very busy place on Saturdays, and I would allow more time, especially since you are relying on off-site transportation.
I have always opted to risk having time to spare, rather than cut it too close. With all of the new security measures in place, it really can take a while to get through...........

I would be at the parking for 1:30 and not risk missing my flight....who wants to be stuck in Hartford in February??!!

i have to agree with the previous poster.

we flew song out of hartford on 1/23 (a Friday) - same flight time, around 3:30.

it took like a half hour just to get through security! I would imagine it would be worse on a saturday.

We dropped our car off at parking around 1ish, took the shuttle from there to the terminal and got our boarding passes and what not. We grabbed some lunch, ate that in like 15 minutes and I think we only sat there waiting at the terminal for maybe 20 minutes - half hour - before we started boarding. Not that bad at all.

better to be safe then sorry!
