How busy in the afternoon of Holidays?

We're thinking of going to the parks in the days just after Labor day 2018 (we don't like crowds). My question is, how busy are the parks in the afternoon of busy Holiday's like Labor day when it's followed by a work/school day?
Do the parks lighten up a lot in the later afternoon as guests leave for the trip home or is it packed to closing?
I got to thinking that if the parks aren't jammed, maybe it would be nice to arrive in the afternoon sometime.

September is warm or hot if you ask some, so, many locals may stop by in the afternoon, early evening after school and work to ride a couple of the wet rides. There really isn't a slow time any more. The difference will be park hours and how many CMs are scheduled to work. I hope you have a great time when you go!

Its on a Monday so it will likely be the end of a very crowded holiday weekend.

I also figured out Mansion and Pirates would be down. Between those and the crowds, I think we'll start looking at early 2019.
