Hi - it's been a good few years since we last visited US and just wondered how busy the parks are in September. Our dates are the last 2 weeks in the month and were thinking of booking a couple of nights onsite, if it was worth it, to get the front of line access. Any thoughts appreciated.
Many thanks :thumbsup2

the beginnning of the month to mid sept is not crowded based on past years.

the very end of sept will be crowded especially for the onsite hotels.
if you want to go then and stay there, book soon.

the HHN begins on sept 26-27 only friday and saturday as it is the opening for the hard ticket event.

if you want to go at the end of the month to stay onsite, go during the weekdays and you will avoid the crowds at the hotel.

if you want to stay off site, again, go to the parks during the week to avoid the crowds.
i have found that tues, wed, thur to be lighter than other days in the park near the end of sept.

if you go the 3rd week, and stick to weekdays, no problem on crowds.

this is how it was for me on past visits. also, many posters have commented about the same as what i have experienced.

We have been many times in Sept and it has not been crowded.

When HHN starts the hotels will be harder to book. Maybe you could do your onsite at Universal the first part of your trip and of course rates are lower during the week than the weekend.

Thank you both for these really helpful replys - now i will have to get down to the nitty, gritty planning. :goodvibes

i agree. it all depends on the dates you go.
i had the unfortunate luck of going during the 3rd week a few years back and a convention was going on at hrh. parks weren't crowded during the week but the hotel was jammed.

right now the weekends at hrh are difficult to book for sept unless you come in on a weekday. i had to pick up 2 weekday nights for my ressie.

check the uo website to find the value season rates

just stay away Sept. 5th and 6th. They are having Rock the Universe. We were there last year during this time and it was PACKED!!

We are staying Sunday 9/28-Thursday 10/2. We don't expect any crowds, since it is on weekdays and between HHN nites. I could be wrong, but hope not. Not worried though, FOTL will get us through the crowds.
