How busy in June?

We're going Sat, Jun 10 to Sat, June 17. I know school is out and I expect it too be bust, but how busy? The only other time we went was the end of August and it was pretty low crowds, not long waits, etc. I just want to be prepared. Plan on doing WMH when offered in the mornings and then park hop when it gets crowded, but we're also wanting to take breaks in the afternoon to swim, rest etc. So, it is horrible, doable with planning or not too bad? :confused3

It will be busy and it will be very hot but it is manageable if you have a plan. We went in 2004 and will be returning June 6-June 14, 2006. We don't take the kids out of school and I can't take vacation from work in July & August so this is our best time to go.

Take lots of sunscreen and drink lots of water. Use fastpass and take an afternoon break when the parks get crowded and the heat is at it's peak.

Have fun! We did and we are going back again so it can't be too bad. :goodvibes

We've gone the past three Junes. I can't handle crowds very well, so I do a few things to avoid them. First, I get there before the park opens. Yes, it is crowded for a while, but they disperse and we've got it to ourselves. Take advantage of Extra Hours or whatever they are calling it this week. We go early, then head back to the resort for a mid-afternoon siesta & swim. We eat dinner earlyish, 5:00, then head back to another park. Last year everyone we spoke to was complaining about the crowds but it didn't seem to hit where we were. We also have the attitude that we are at WDW so who cares how many more people join the party. Enjoy!!!

We went last June and used the same plan and had a great time. Never waited long for anything.

You should do a search on this board - there are a lot of threads and some very recent.

Shouldn't be too bad. We have always gone at the end of August and went at the end of June this year. I was expecting the worse in crowds with school being out, but it was not as bad as I thought. We did not have to wait more than 1/2 for certain attractions and we used fast pass whenever possibly as well.

We did go to the Star Wars Weekend. I would definately recommend it if you plan on going in June. I am not a huge Star Wars fan, but I did get caught up in the characters and the entertainment.

The best advice ever given.....get to the parks at opening! Crowds will be lower in the A.M. as well as the temps. Things start heating up (crowds and temps) around 11-12. You can hit all the rides you want prior to the big crowds, and go back to your hotel for lunch/rest.

Absolutely get to the parks before opening. We managed to get a lot done at all the parks in a few morning hours this past June. We also found that as the month progressed the crowds got a lot bigger. We arrived on June 15 and, although it was crowded, it was manageable until around the 21st or so. All of a sudden it was a mob scene everywhere. We tried park hopping but that didn't help at all. Also want to point out that the evening EMH was a total waste in June. It looked like the EMH park was more crowded at night than during the day.
So......go as early as possible in June.......get to the parks early (EMH or regular).......use Fast Passes as much as you can........don't go to an evening EMH park after 2pm as the crowds start building.
We have done several June trips and it can be done with planning. Don't forget to make sure everyone drinks plenty of water since it will be hot.

We have gone the last two years in June. We usually go around the first couple weeks in June. I really didn't feel the crowds were bad. Never had to wait long for a ride. Use fastpass!!

Last year we went during star wars weekend, MGM really crowded, but other then that not to bad.

It is really hot and rains a whole buch so be prepared!!!!

But the crowds weren't bad

We'll be there the same time - We're going to arrive June 8-18!! Can't wait!!

We've been several times in June, and at least three times for the week of July 4th! It is hot, but we've always had a great time!! Just as the others have said - get there early, take a mid-day break, and go back to the park of your choice!! Also, make some ADRs for any restaurant you want to try. On many occasions, we've seen people turned away from restaurants, or they're told it may be an hour or more wait for a table!

We were at Disney June 2005 - crowds weren't really that bad! Had a great time at the water parks - be sure to try CrushNGusher!!!

Have fun - see ya there!!!!

I was soo worried that we wouldn't be able to see alot and that it was going to be crowded form morning till night. I've already made my ADR's...hopefully the park hours are close to May's so I won't have to change anything. I'm pretty much still expecting to go to the parks until lunch or a little after, take a break go back out again or even callit a day other than our dinner ADR's. I'm trying to be more relaxed this time and doing 7 days 6 nights so that we can see most of what we want and then selectively going back for the few things we miss the 1st day in the parks. Nobody but me likes the roller coasters etc so that helps alot. DH has agreed to take the kids back to the resort for EMH at night so I can do Space Mountain, RNR coaster, ToT and all my rides without having to deal with the kids so I'm sure we'll all have a blast! I hope I see some of ya'll there! Thanks for the advice :love1:

I went around that time this year (I think it was June 13-16?) and for the most part, it was crowded, but nothing unbearable. Until I just happened to be at the Magic Kingdom on an evening EMH day.

Let me put it this way: It was SO crowded by 10 PM (people were packed together like sardines in front of the castle - I'm 5 foot 2 and I literally could not identify which way to Mainstreet because all I could see were people) that I just burst into tears.

I will never go to WDW on another EMH day in the summer again.

we were there June 18 - 25 and enjoyed it soooo much. It is hot but bearable. Stay hydrated and rest in the afternoons. We love the longer park hours in the summer. They added extra specro & wishes every night almost at MK while we were there. The showers were enjoyable compared to the heat.

We will be going June 10th until the 17th also! We went from June 4-11 last year and with proper planning like you seem to have we never had complaints about the crowds except on Sat. the 11th at MK. That's our own fault though. I know to avoid MK in the middle of the day Sat, but since it was our departure day and it was my 40th birthday, we park hopped a bit and I just had say I was in the MK on Main St. on my 40th bday (corny I know). You'll have a great time.

Can manage the crowds, last June rained a lot. :Pinkbounc
