I'll be at WDW from Sept 4th-11th and I was wondering what kind of crowds does the Night of Joy attract?

I know it will be busy on Labor Day weekend, but I was hoping after LD the crowds would be much smaller.

I hope its not too busy during the Night of Joy.

Thanks!

Are you asking how busy the actual Night of Joy event is??? Or are you asking how busy it is in the park the day of Night of Joy??? Or are you asking how busy the property is because of night of joy???

If you are asking about the event itself, it is a hard ticket event meaning that you have to have a seperate ticket specifically for it so they are able to limit the number of tickets they sell. It is kind of busy during the event, but the majority of the people are there for the performers so the lines for the rides are not too long.

If your question is about the day guests in the park prior to Night of Joy, it is usually slow that day as the park closes early for the event, most people don't spend the day in MK, they go to a different park that has longer hours. So during the day MK is fairly slow.

If your question is how busy the property is because of night of joy, A LOT of the people that come for Night of Joy are locals or faily local, it is a big draw, but usually only for the night of the event, it doesn't really have an effect on the attendance for the week persay.

Actually, I found the lines for rides to be pretty darn long during NOJ. The event is marketed towards church youth groups and the majority of the people there are teenagers which makes for long lines at the bigger E rides like Space Mountain or BTMRR. The Fantasyland rides on the other hand are pretty vacant.

I guess I want to know how busy the parks will be during the day while the NofJ is going on.

I won't be attending the NofJ but I will be at the parks that week.

We were there last year during Night of Joy. Parks during the day were very empty.
The good thing during night of joy was (at least it seemed like) there was more transportation. We had dinner at the poly and because of night of joy, transportation from Mk was running later.
Even though we had a late reservation for dinner, we could still take a resort bus back from the MK rather than Poly to DD and DD back to AKL

I had the exact OPPOSITE experience.

We were at the Magic Kingdom on the Friday of Night of Joy in the Magic Kingdom in 2002, and it was PACKED. This was at 10 in the morning, too.

I think we're going to change our plans and arrive on the 11th and stay until the 18th now. Then we will avoid all the crowds.

Thanks for all your help.
