Staying at WDW for the first time and staying at the Poly, in the evening/night does the beach get busy with people heading there after MK for a rest before going back to their hotels or is it quite quiet?

You may want to ask this question in the Disney Resorts forum you will get more Poly visitors there.

I've never stayed there, but I can tell you that it's a great place to watch Wishes, so many people will come by there to do so. We went out there one night after dinner at Ohana, and there were quite a few people out there with the same idea. Again, more people on the Resorts board can tell you for sure.

we've been there a couple of times...in May...and thought it was remarkably un-crowded. The first time there was one other family out there (parents & couple of little ones) The 2nd time there was maybe 4-5 families in addition to us.

I'm sure it probably sees more action when the resorts/parks are full.

We were over at the Poly beach on August 15th to watch the last night of the Summer Nightastic fireworks.

We got there about 1/2 hour before they started and had no trouble finding beach chairs to sit in. By the time the fireworks began the beach was moderately full with guests. Once the fireworks were over I would say about 90% of the people either left to go back to their rooms at the Poly or to the Monorail station or Boat dock to leave.

Even before the fireworks, the beach wasn't noisy at all. Just normal conversation chatter.

Hope this helps

yea after the fireworks or sometimes EWP is over - the beach is not busy at all.

I've stayed at the Poly a dozen times and we always watch wishes on the beach. It is not crowded and is sometimes nearly empty, even during the busy season. If you want a hammock I would stake one out 45 minutes before the fireworks but that is the exception because there are only a handfull of them (6?). Sometimes when it is the busy season you will see a lot of people on the beach chairs by the pool but even then it still wouldn't be defined as "crowded". If you felt differently you could walk eastward down the beach in front of Hawaii or Tahiti longhouse and you will surely find a dark place with no people in any direction for 30 feet.

I highly reccomend doing this at least once. It is wonderful.
