How busy are you with your kid's activities?

DD 13 plays basketball, travel softball, rec. softball, and taekwondo 2nd degree black belt and jr certified instructor she teaches 2 classes a week and takes 3-4 times a week .. Plus works with a personal trainer 3 times a week.. ( Thank God for only one.. LOL!!!! )

Right now, our 5 year old DS only does one activity a week, Tae Kwon Do 2-3 times a week. We also try to limit him to one activity at a time (at least during weekdays), so last summer, he took a break from TKD to take swimming classes (he also had soccer, but that's just Saturdays for now).

We've just now signed up our 8 month old in his first activity -- a Little Gym class for mommy/daddy and him. It's two nights a week -- the nights that DS1 doesn't have TKD. :)

Thank you for all the replies - looks like we fit right in with you all!
DD11 currently is in Advanced Gymnastics, competitive softball, a recreational volleyball league, show choir, and church activities. (also school band and regular choir at school - but our time only involves the 3 concerts per year.)
I do not mind - but my poor dh gets tired of it all.
His main concern is that we have a baby due in Feb. and that always makes life interesting!

Here is our weekly schedule - I don't think it is so bad to be honest. :)

Now when the actual softball games start - they will only be once a week - a double header on Thursdays.
Nice to know I am not completly crazy to be a taxi! I was this busy when I was a kid and loved it. My dd loves to be involved in these activities otherwise I would not do all this!

My oldest DD 19 was not a great student so her activities were limited to dance and soccer. She took several dance classes as she was learning disabled and the dance really raised her self esteem.

My youngestb DD, 10, loves all sports and loves to be busy. Here's her schedule:
Mondays: 6-7 Goalie training
7-8 Basketball practice
Tuesdays: Soccer practice 6:45-8:15
Wednesday: Art 4-5:30
Basketball 7-8:15
Thursdays: Free
Friday: saxophone lessons
soccer
Saturday: 2 basketball games
Sunday: Indoor lacrosse

Spring is a little hairer with 2 added lacrosse and soccer practices but we lose basketball.

Count me as another one that was so busy as a child (piano, catechism, softball, art classes, girl scouts, tap and ballet, band, etc) that I never had an unscheduled moment. It didn't do me a whole lot of good either, since I ended up dropping out and leaving home in the 11th grade. Right now, my focus is mostly on me, my sanity and my return to school. I don't have many free nights to cart the kids all over creation for things they'd probably whine about anyway (lazy kids!). My DS13 plays baseball in the summer, DD15 talks on the phone a lot (really, it's like an olympic sport) and DD7 has recently shown an interest in dance, so I'm thinking about that. We belong to the local YMCA, so they're never short of activity or a place to just socialize and chill. Personally, I would go bonkers if they had activities each night, my night classes are enough for me. :)

Sometimes I think I am going to go crazy running my kids around. But I would not have it any other way.It is the reason that I only work until 2:00.They have the hours after school for HW and free time.

DS10-Travel baseball from January-October.He either has games/practice three times a week plus weekends. He also plays basketball and football. He has AWANAS(church group) on Wednesdays if he doesn't have a sport.

DS8-baseball from Feb.-October.He also plays basketball and football. He has cubscouts on Mondays and church on Wednesday.

DD7-she has Art lessons on Tuesdays after school. She goes to American Heritage on Thursday nights and church on Wednesdays.

The baby just tags along. She loves it and I am thankful that she can go with the flow.I won't try to write out our schedule,it varies from week to week.It does take both my DH and I to keep up with them.

My DD5 has cheerleading twice a week for an hour at a time. She will have a few competitions coming up that will be on sundays. In the late spring when cheer ends she will most likey choose between t-ball or soccer. I really do not want her to have overlapping activites. DS will be 3 in the late spring and he would be old enough to start jr t-ball but I think we are going to wait a year.
