How big will they make the tables? Traveling with a group.

Our small gathering of friends on our October 2005 cruise looks like it might be growing exponently. It started out with 10 Adults and Children, (with the possibility of 2 more if we and one of the other couples manage to get pregnant any time in this century.) Then, another couple that we are friends with decided they might come, which would raise our group to 14 (possibly 16). The friends who just decided to come think that the husband's Mother and Father will also want to come and that would leave us with a whopping 16 (possibly 18) people.

The question is, if our reservations are linked together, will they make one long table or break us down into two or three smaller ones? Honestly, it probably doesn't matter either way as a table big enough for 16/18 people probably wouldn't lend itself to full table group discussions anyway, I'm just curious.

My other question is, will our Servers take one look at us (10 adults and 6-8 toddlers/babies 3 and under) and go running screaming out of the restaurant to jump off the ship? I'd hate to be responsible for that! I can promise that they would get tipped VERY well at least! :)

Lastly, How many people do you need for the group rate? :) Is it really much better than the regular rate? We have a few other couples that we can try to rope into going (we may fail, but it never hurts to try) if the group rate is low enough! *laugh*

We had 14 in our party last year..... All at one table. I think they will let you go up to 18. The trick is telling them to link the reservations (that you want the same dinner rotation and table)

During our last cruise on the Wonder, we sat near a group that had two tables 10 adults at one and 11 littlle girls at the other(they were adorable--all looked the same and dressed in the same dress). The tables were actually next to each other with not enough room to squeeze by. We had a small party and asked to be seated together.

Thanks everyone! I didn't figure they could make one huge table to accomodate all of us. s a matter of fact, We could probably talk better if we were at seperate tables but close together. I am assuming that we would all have the same wait staff so that if we wanted to switch up the people at the actual tables every now and then, we could?

We had a table of 14 in January and we were seated in the center of each dining room. It was a fantastic spot to see everything. We loved it!!

Do you think we have a shot of 16 seated at one table. I sure hope so.

We were once at a long table for 18. They will try to do whatever you wish. I believe that 18 is the max at one table, and 24 ish is the max in one server area.

Just be sure that all the reservations are "linked" so that they know you are all to be seated together.

I'm glad to hear they have gone up that high:D

Thanks
Joanna
