How big or small are the drops in Splash Mountain?

Not counting the obvious drop on the outside of Splash Mountain, the "Big Drop", what size are the other smaller drops that precede it in the ride? I think there are 2 or 3 and was wondering how big they were. Also in Pirates of the Carribbean how big is the drop on that ride? It's in the dark so it catches me off guard every time. Anyone know?

The drops go from anywhere between like 4-25ft. Nowhere near as big as the obvious one. The 2 other biggest ones besides the obvious are also in the dark. A lot are just teeny tiny ones that don't even make your heart race or anything.
I think in Pirates, it's like 20 ft or something.

On Splash Mountain, there are two small drops. Because of the angle in which you descend is not steep, the actual footage you drop is not really relevant. That is until the "Big" drop on the outside.

The same can be said of the, POTC. there is only one drop. And once again, the angle in which you descend is minimal. I hope this helps somewhat.

Yeah, the drops are about 5-20ft I would say. It is being in the dark that makes them worse, I prefer the big drop, you can prepare that way

Jurassic Park was a nightmare though with no preperation drops, climbing, climbing, climbing, oh pants, climbing - DROP! Splash isnt that bad compared to that. POTC is teeny drops - kind of the same as Maelstrom I think, about 10ft? It is hard to tell, you have no reference points.

I love Splash Mountain because at every single drop, the newbies think it's the "big one" because they don't realize how long the ride actually is. They think it's like a typical theme park log flume thing where you go up, do a thing or two (if you are lucky) and then just take the plunge down. The other drops are not that bad at all.

YES My DSis kept asking "Was that the one" and "is this it?" and "TELL ME WHEN IT'S HERE"!!! I'm like "You'll know it when when we get there, trust me!" Soooooo much fun taking adult first-timers!
