Just wondering if it is worth geting that or the surf and turf.

:goodvibes I haven't had it, but I remembered reading about this in a recent post that talked about it and so I found that post for you. Hope it helps:

For my birthday, we decided to go to Narcoosee's for dinner because the lobster is included on the dining plan. Thank goodness I didn't pay for this out of pocket or I would have been LIVID! I was very angry with this!

First, the lobster is $58, for that price I expected more than the 1.5 pound chicken sized lobster I received. I expected at least a 2-3 pound lobster. I don't know about you, but a chicken sized lobster should only cost $20 at a restaurant and a good restaurant at that.

Secondly, YOU DON'T GET THE WHOLE LOBSTER. The menu even says, "Whole Maine Lobster." Well that is NOT what you get! You get the claws and tail and that is it. None of the body. So if you like to eat the tomalley and the roe (the green and red stuff in the body), and then try to suck the meat out of the legs, you have to ask for the lobster to be prepared correctly and not the odd preparation they give you.

I was VERY disappointed!

:cutie:

That same poster later printed a correction that she was wrong regarding the size of the lobster she received. Here is link to that thread.

I have had the Surf and Turf. Plenty of lobster and I substituted scallops for the Turf. I expected 3-4 scallops, but I think they gave me the regular entree portion because I had at least 6 scallops. I would order it again in a heart beat. There was no shortage of food on my plate and it was absolutely delicious.

We ate at Narcoossees just last week with my boss and his wife....
I had the surf and turf and my boss' wife had the Maine Lobster.

Her lobster looked to be about 2.5 pounds. it was all split open for her and very easy to eat. It included everything except for the small little tenticle legs that some people like to suck on.

My surf and turf was beautiful, 2 pieces of tenderloin that where very flavorful and tender and a nice lobster tail (looked about the size of a 1.5 pounder's tail). The table was not grilled as most are, it was poached in butter.

Were they worth $58? uhm....yes .....it was to us...but that really become a personal decision, as everyones' thoughts on value differ.

Thank you that was very helpful. I didnt mean worth the cost I meant is the size of the lobster worth not just ordering the surf and turf with the tail. I am going for my 40th birthday and we have to take our 3 year old who loves lobster. I was wondering if it was small like a 1 pounder or bigger like a 1.5-2 pounder so that I would at least get a few bites. LOL. We are on the dining plan so cost isnt really relavant. Thanks again for the info looks like I am having lobster on my birthday:thumbsup2
