I had read on another thread that if you need a fridge for medical/formula for baby purposes you could get it free of charge. I did call and got it added to my to my reservation but the lady told me that it is very small and did not know if it would suit my needs for baby formula. I was wondering if anyone knows if they give a regular size fridge or is it much smaller than that???? I need to know so I know whether I should just bring a cooler instead. BTW we are staying at the All Star Movies Resort.

THANKS

They're the small cube ones. YOu could put the small travel glass bottles in there easily (I guess they still have those?) and the concentrate cans will definitely fit. The tall RTL ones might need you to take the shelf out. We esily put a 12 pack of bottle drinks and water in one. HTH

Thanks alot for the quick reply....I was getting worried I would have no way to store DD's milk during our stay. I feel better now!!!! :flower:

I remember a trip to the Swan in '99. They had mini bars, no fridges. I had to take the stuff out that I could without unlocking it and paying the fee, and wedge a little mini bottle in there. Thank goodness they finally wised up and added them to the rooms!

I don't know what kind of formula you use, but I would think for a trip to WDW, powdered formula would be much easier? I used one of those little containers that has a 3-way divider and a spout with a lid, you just measure out the powder for one bottle into each section and when you're ready to feed the baby, turn the spout over one section and dump the formula into the bottle of water and shake it.

Enjoy your trip, regardless! We stayed at Movies last fall and really enjoyed it!

I'm wondering the same thing ... only about the fridges in the rooms at POR. I am assuming they'd be the same size??

I am trying to figure out how much "cold" stuff to buy during our 30 min grocery stop (milk, juice, etc) -- how much will fit in a POR room fridge?

Can anyone comment?

TIA, :)

I'm assuming it would be the same size as the one in the CBR. It isn't the tiniest cube fridge I've ever seen - maybe 2.5 cubic feet or so. There's one full width shelf, plus the bottom of it, and there's no little freezer compartment to take up space, and there is storage in the door that will fit water bottles and such. If you get milk, smaller containers (probably no bigger than a half gallon) would be best because you can lay them on their side if you need to. As previously noted you'd need to take out the shelf for a gallon container or anything really tall. We had to turn ours up to the highest setting (5) to get it to keep things really cold, although others have said their stuff froze at that setting, so you might have to tinker with the settings to find out how yours is inclined.

We've rented fridges at CBR and CR and they were both 2.2 cu. ft.. You can probably fit about one case and one 6 pack of 12 oz. cans, but that would be a pretty tight squeeze.

The ones we rented (in 1999 and 2001) had a freezer compartment in them. I remember this because we put a few bottles of water in to get extra cold so they'd last longer in our bag we took to the parks. I don't know if the fridges are still the same or if they have different ones now.

The ones at the value resorts are really small, and don't stay cold. If you have a car, why not drive to a walmarts(look for directions on this board) and buy a cooler. I bought one when I was there, it was pretty huge, had large wheels with a hadle to pull it. It was only $18. Had to refill it with ice only once a day and you can then put water, drinks, milk, etc in it. Saves $ over buying drinks in the parks, even just water bottles.

At the end of the trip, we left it in the room, figured someone who worked there could use a brand new cooler. And even if you leave it there, if you stayed longer than 2 days, it's still cheaper than renting a fridge at $10 a day.
Just a thought

we had thought of buying a cooler that plugged into the car and also plugged into a wall outlet in the hotel, but then I had read about the free fridge..(I am all about the free stuff) so I called and they gave me one. I think we will still bring a cooler for juice, milk etc. for us so that we don't have to pay much out of pocket for breakfast since we got the dining plan.

I cannot wait!!! I am 28 yrs old and have never been before and I used to live in St. Petersburg for 5 years...I guess mom and dad didn't love me as much as I thought they did...LOL :confused3
