Please solve a question/arguement. How big is Disney World? Dh thinks he can walk to everything in Disney World. No need for buses/monorail, etc. Just how big is Disney World?

Thanks!
Kate

Something tells me that your DH thinks Disney World is the Magic Kingdom.

He really has no idea. In all fairness, he's never been and I've only been once. He keeps saying things like "won't be get bored in 6 whole days?" and "why are you so concerned about getting from x to x. Just walk". I asked him how big he thinks it is, his answer..."Can't be more than about 3 miles."

Our city is 42 square miles....I thinks he gets it now...

Thanks for proving my point!

We're in Cedar Rapids IA and the kids still laugh because the many lanes in each direction is more than we have on our interstates here...lol. We stayed at Fort Wilderness and it could take 10-15 minutes of driving to get off the grounds of WDW, and that's at highway speed most of the way and no waiting. Yes it's big! If he tried to walk from place to place he'd never see anything but roads and maybe an alligator or two in the waterways along the roads...lol.

A good way to appreciate the size of and layout of WDW is to see it on "Google Earth"; Satellite imagery that you can scroll over, zoom in/out of. Also, the program is labeled to help identify various areas, though it is fun to try to figure out what your looking at based on familiarity. :3dglasses

I totally agree! It also helps in deciding which resort to stay at. My kids love looking at Disney World using Google Earth. Disney World is definitely another "world."

DH loves that he can just park our truck and not see again until the next week. The transportation is fabulous. And no, you can't get bored. He's also hooked on the golf courses there. He played at Magnolia last time and would love to play the Palm next time.

He said it best last time we went while waiting for the rope drop at ToonTown Fair: "We've only barely scratched the surface of this place!" So yeah, we'll be back for as many times as we can go!
