How badly do you want inferno?

i think i would rather spend that money on something useful like clothes, books, save up money for another trip to WDW, 18 DVDs with videos of rides at WDW, etc.

so how many have bid on it so far then?

why do we need to rehash this again?
This is the 3rd seller on ebay that is being slandered without cause. Regardless of whether you woud do it or not, you have no right to call this seller a scam, a cheat or whatever with no proof whatsoever. That is just plain wrong. AGAIN.

Who called the ebay seller a scammer? I think it's brilliant of them, personally, making money off of VMK rofl. I think the people bidding are a little... I dunno, rich, maybe? But the seller is pretty clever if you ask me, lol.

Umm....I didn't "slander" or call the seller a "scammer"...if you read my post a little more closely again, you will notice that I was giving my humble opinion about the risk (and wisdom) of BUYING virtual items.

i agree, the seller is smart. There is nothing wrong with making money off of something in demand..this is the first lesson of business! If people would not bid $405 for it then there would not be any for sale would there? Seems like the stupid ones are the people buying it. In any case, i dont even want it. If I want to do inferno i will just go to the spell room and do it for free!

what if the code doesn't work? then that is a TOTAL RIP OFF! I wouldn't pay over $200 just for a magic pin. That isn't right... Someone will probably buy is sometime. PPL SELL FISH ON E-BAY! AND THEY SOLD A FAMILY!! FOR OVER 1,0000!

Someone sold a family on ebay? How does that work? i have one particular family member i wouldn't mind selling off, but . . . . . .

if you buy it online and the code doesnt work, they are stealing and that is a crime so i dont suggest doing so any of you scammers out there- dont get arrested for being selfish. correct me if im wrong.

i too am not calling anyone a scammer- i think the money idea is too creative. what a way to make money!
but some people scam players inside the vmkforums/disboards, get rare things, and sell it on ebay. that would be considered stealing/scamming.

not going to rehash old arguments, but I did read the posts closely, and I didnt point to a specific person, if you think I was talking about you, then you probably did intend to insinuate that these sellers are cheats. If you dont think I was talking about you, then you probably didnt.

And Inferno does not come in code form. None of the auctions, none of them, ever said this was a code. If they did, they they ARE scammers, but they didnt. They all say "trade in game" or whatever. Dont assume, investigate and then make an informed opinion, dont just guess, that just makes you look foolish.

You remind me a very dutiful journalist lol. No "supermarket" magazines for you lol. However, on a second thought, I think the main idea of this thread is headed in a good direction. I think it has at least brought up a good point of where the virtual line crosses with the realistic line. Sort of in the sense of, where does reality become virtual? The idea of someone spending over $200 for a "virtual" items makes for a very interesting conversation. I don't think the intentions of the thread were to "bash" the seller, but comment on what a person's ideas are on the matter of the "buyers" interest. By posting something like this kind of puts things into perspective for the "not-so-casual" vmk player and could possibly be a reality check for some. IMHO, I think looking further into what this thread could possibly stand for is more important than skimming the surface of what is typed out. Sometimes it is okay to swim in deeper waters. IMHO. :goodvibes

First I want to reiterate- that there is no code for inferno- so no scam there- the buyer and seller agree to meet in vmk to transfer the pin- so there is no scam- and really there is no scam for them selling the freebie stuff like cereal codes either- (now there may be a scam if they are taking the guide off this site or others and selling it lol- but that isn't the case in the situation the OP said)

Buying and selling on Ebay always involves a risk no matter what is being sold- and believe me there are all sorts of crazy things being sold on ebay- like the town or the family (and yes I wonder how that one worked too lol)- but as a seller you want your money before you ship the item- most sellers only take paypal so it is instant money- some will still take checks or money orders too- some are actual businesses and take credit cards- And I completely understand that- you can't have it until you pay for it- and so the buyer always has some risk that the item will never be sent- but trust me- those people do get dealt with- eventually down the line- through bad feedback- and if they just start a new account then they have the problem of short history- (I know when I've purchased items I look at feedback and the person's history before I'd purchase- especially if it was something expensive- and if I had the slightest doubt I let it go)...

And as has been said before- yes VMK trading cards do carry the 'not for sale or transfer' blurb- but that is a corporate thing for cya only- and I highly doubt they'd spend the energy or money to try to stop any of it- unless the circumstances would reflect poorly on Disney itself... That said- Disney isn't going to come after buyers or sellers-

Okay- now my opinion... for the original post and to get this all back on to the point of the post- which was "How Badly Do you want Inferno?"
Certainly not bad enough to pay $200. I also don't want it so bad that I would trade rooms full of rare items for it in the game either...

But let's say VMK started selling cards for items in the game at the park or through Disney shopping or something- and one was an Inferno- I'd consider paying a few bucks for it... not too much now- but yeah I'd consider paying something.

I guess I want inferno enough that I actually subject myself to playing staff games over and over and over again... how much $$$ is that worth?

And I do agree- let's not trash talk the buyers or the sellers- but just give your opinion- would you pay $200 for inferno? How about $400? $500? or even $1,000? And, If not that, would you pay $100? $50? $25? $20? $15? $10 $5...
