How bad was Pop Warner week this year?

We stayed 1 night, Friday Dec. 9th at ASMu, and yes, the resort was noisy! Even at 11 PM there were loud noises from the pool. Our room was in the courtyard, but we were not by a pool, but it was as if the pool was right in front of our door.

However, I think something must have happened because it did get quiet, and I thought maybe some sort of curfew was put in place. I never called the front desk or anything and I fell asleep. DH said that it did get noisy again but I slept through it, he fell asleep but with more problems from the noise than I had.

I knew there could be a problem, but we needed to use Magic Express for DH, and all in all I would do it again, but only for 1 night.

I spent my time at Epcot and I don't think the bus either way was anymore noisy than any other bus than I was on the next week from VWL.

we were at POR from 12/3-12/11. beginning of the week was fine- there was a long line checking in on 12/3 and most were pop.

the food court was always crowded wtih the pop kids. never once had a problem with the football players. talked to some nice ones from ohio while space mtn went down and we were waiting in line (saw it with the lights on). the cheerleaders and their chaperones....another story.....had to call security on them on 12/8 at 11pm as their charter bus literally unloaded right outside our door at POR. they were running up and down stairs, screaming, stomping and waking up our 2 year old. we asked politely if the chaperone could keep them quiet and after nothing happening, we called security. it was quiet after that.

also saw them going crazy at the pool....and overheard one mom chaperone - holding her beer (which she brought down in her own personal cooler to the pool) and asking her girls to not show so much cleavage, since she was posting their pics all over hte internet. i just thought it was funny. i am all for drinking some beer....but it was just funny....seemed the chaperone needed more chaperoning instead.

we will avoid pop warner next time. it didn't seem to affect the parks until friday or saturday for us, but did affect our resort, pool and food court.

I didn't have a chance to read all 5 pages.

I'm sorry if this has been asked before.

How can I find the dates for 2006? I want to avoid PW. I'm trying to keep our cost low, so we have to stay in a value resort.

I WAS planning to go the 1st week in Dec. next year but not now! Will I be safe the 2nd week of Dec. 2006? I was thinking the 9th-18th. Will I be safe???

I was a cheerleader. I never behaved like these kids!

We were in WDW Dec. 1-8, the parks were packed but we stayed at GF so was not affected there. Pooh was a 60minute wait and peter pan was a 50 minute wait.

I was in WDW the same time frame and really didn't experience that long of a wait for stuff. Pooh did seem crowded the times we went past it, but we were at MK 4 times during our trip, and I think the longest we waited for a ride was possibly 15-20 minutes for Indy Speedway. Dumbo, Carousel, Tea Cups were all pretty much walk on or 5 minute waits. I don't know about the mountains since we did not do them this year, but I'm betting they were probably a bit more crowded.

As far as the cheerleaders and football players were concerned we didn't see an awful lot of them. A couple times at MK and once at Epcot. Seems like the most we ran into them is if you ended up at the McDonald's down by AK for a "cheap" lunch.

I think a majority of them were staying at Pop with some overflow into AS and I think I heard some spilled over to Coronado or Caribbean.

This is the second time in 3 years we've been down during Pop Warner, and I really didn't notice a big problem. The only thing that was a bit more crowded than normal seemed to be MVMCP. We went on a Thursday.

We were there Dec 4th to the 12th. We stayed in the CR so I didn't notice them in that respect. It was interesting, because I saw alot of cheerleaders in the parks, but they were all in groups of 4 or 5 and with a parent. They were totally quiet, no cheering.

The football groups we ran into were polite and the coaches were sharing stories with people in line about how they won games to get there, how these kids would never have been able to go on a trip like this, etc. They were to a man polite.

The cheerleader teams embarassed themselves. They were every sterotype you can imagine from TV movies, overbearng parents, etc. It was like they just had to call attention to themselves on line. One really annoying group ruining Philharmonic did sht up when I just yelled in the dark "One day you will turn 15, realize no one pays or cares what cheerleaders do and grow up.

It was met with applause.

We stayed at Beach Club from Dec3 -8. Did not really notice many of the cheerleaders except during the EMH. The parks were packed during the evenings. I found the football players very well mannered. The cheerleaders were doing cheers in the park, which did'nt really bother us too much. :cheer2: I will comment on a prior post regarding the complete disregard of the smoking sections. In the evening it seemed like an awful lot of adult chaperones just blowing smoke in peoples faces, throwing butts all over the place etc. You get the picture. I'm not trying to preach, I'm a former smoker myself but I really thougt the rules should have been enforced more at the parks regarding the smoking. It was'nt a bad time to visit Disney, but I think I would try maybe another week next December. As an aside, I found Beach Club extremely noisy, maybe I'm more sensitive to noise now then when I was younger, because I have 3 small children that I was trying to get to sleep, but I found people in the hallways loud and I swear it sounded like a party was going on in the room above us at 2:00 Am. Next year we will be going back to Wilderness Lodge!

Exactly when is Pop Warner week in 2006? I wouldl ike to take my parents, but I was hoping on low crowds Dec 9-15.
