How bad is the water?

This will be our first time in Disney (me, DH, and DS 6), and my first time in Florida since I was a little kid. We were thinking we would just bring our Camelbak and fill it up whenever we need to in order to stay hydrated. Does the water taste so bad that we will need to order bottled water instead? We are so spoiled with our tap water here in Colorado. :)

I'm sure you will get tons of opinions for and against. My son who only drinks milk and water and is very picky, has never complained about the water. But he is only 6. I typically don't drink it that much, but when it's hot, it tastes just fine to me. :)

The weird thing is that it depends on the location on site. One resort will have nasty water where another one will have water that tastes good. The bottom line to me is that if I want water that bad, it doesn't really matter if it tastes a little weird.

But if you are big water drinkers, then you might want to get some bottled water delivered.

Water in Disney has a bad reputation. We always ask for the free filtered water from any QS restaurant or food cart that serves fountain soda. I am picky and this water is fine for us.

I don't like it. I prefer filtered water bottles to bottled water, most recently I have used the Berkey filtered sports water bottle. Get some ice from a cs dump it in there and works as well as your camelbak.

I agree with this, as long as you get the water from QS locations, it is fine. The drinking fountains can be nasty, except in places like first aid where they are filtered.

I don't notice anything wrong with it?

I guess I should add I'm a FL resident. Maybe that has something to do with it?

I really hate the taste of the water there (out of the tap). The water from the restaurants is filtered, though, and is just fine. But I even use bottled water to make coffee in the room. We always get a case of water (just for convenience, I admit). Our DD uses a Brita water bottle and it seems to work just fine. I used to try flavoring the tap water by adding a packet of Crystal Lite, but it only partly worked.

We did not like the water all! However, we still took a thermos and filled it with free counter service water and added propel energy flavoring. It hid the taste and was still refreshing and hydrating and FREE! We also had purchased water from Walmart and had it shipped our room! It even made it there 2 days before us and Disney holds it!

The water at MK is very funky tasting...I always make sure I have a bottle of my own when there. The epcot water tastes much better! I can fill up at the fountains there.

On all our trips, we have never had a problem with the water. We drink out of the taps at the resorts, get tap water at any CS or TS restaurant, and drink out of water fountains. I know I'm in the minority here though! :goodvibes The only problem I've ever had with the water is its not cold enough! That's why we are prone to get a cup from CS locations!

Hated it when we lived down there and we had our house water treated. I still mostly drank bottled or filtered. At the parks I bought bottled water except what I drank in the restaurants.
It definitely isn't "mountain spring" water. ha ha
We grew up with such good water here (literally from the mountains) that I was spoiled before we moved to FL.
;)

Undrinkable, anyone who says they have no problem with the fluid they call water down there is an alien so don't trust them. ;)

Brita, Bobble and the Rubbermaid filter bottles all work. You just can't use the flavor packs in them since it will filter out the flavor.

I drink it every day.

Me too. I've never had an issue with the water at WDW. Off property Florida water has an off taste but never on property. The biggest difference is that WDW and Florida tap water will never be as cold as northern water so it will be a bit different that way.

I agree with what most people have said - to me, the water tastes very sulfery. I just grab a cup of ice water from a CS location, or wherever they have a soda fountain, a couple times a day and I'm good to go. If you guys are still set on a Camelbak, I would put bottled water in it, especially if you are used to your water at home.

I think the water is pretty bad. Personally I think the MK water and the monorail hotels is the worst. To me it has a strong iron taste to it. I taste it more than the sulfur. We always bring our Brita water bottles, I think they work fine. WE also get ice or ice and water from QS places and it tastes OK, but we usually run it thru the Brita filter anyway.

Being over 60, water us fine.... Drinkable and we don't spend money on things that are free.... Water and transportation!

OP - being from Colorado you will NOT like Florida water. We're from Kansas and we can't drink the Florida water. It's true that many CS locations have filtered water so it is drinkable.

We have DVC and an OL (we keep a Brita filter in it) so that we can use filtered water for making coffee, filling water bottles, etc.
