How bad is the spinning on MIB?

I suffer from motion sickness, and although I take Bonine every day before hitting the parks, I still have problems with rides that SPIN! I can't ride the teacups at MK, and I felt a bit nauseous last year when I rode The Cat in the Hat at IOA, of all things!!! Will I be okay on MIB? I really don't want to miss this ride, but know I can't handle it if the spinning is almost constant!! Would appreciate any more detail anyone can give about MIB and the spins! :)

I have a problem with motion sickness myself, I can't take Body Wars or Star Tours... UGH!

I have gotten a bit squeamy on Cat in the Hat but never on Men In Black. I think the fact that you're concentrating on getting the aliens gives you something to concentrate on so you don't get as ill. It's like the theory that the driver doesn't get carsick because their eyes are otherwise preoccupied.

I would try it once and see. I can't imagine that it would though.

Just returned myself. I love roller coasters, but hate spinning rides and theaters-in-round or flight simulaters. I got a little dizzy on Cat in the Hat after doing Dueling Dragons and Dr. Doom in pretty short succession.

Anyway, MIB spins in only three or four places. The last one is the worst - you go around three or four times. But, I didn't get woozy at all. Maybe she's right - trying too hard to shoot those aliens! Give it a try!

This ride will spin a minimum of 6 times.

The first spin will occur just before the 90 degree turn you will make to the left. On the left hand track a door to the left will open and an alien will pop out and you will spin. On the right track an alien will pop up straight ahead and you will spin. This is a single revolution

The second spin will occur in the ambush area and this is a two revolution spin.

The third garunteed spin is when you are under the BIG BUG at the end of the game. You will spin three revolutions in this area.

Now for the optional spins.
1: After the scan area there are aliens in the ceiling that if you do not shoot them first they will cause your car to spin one revolution. One alien on the right track. Two ceiling aliens on the left track.

2: After the scan you are in the area where shooting the opposing cars exhaust port is worth a lot of points and causes the opposing car to spin one revolution. Last saturday the poor folks across from me spun seven times as i made my way to another 999,999 game.

Sorry but no quarter granted :smooth:

Thanks everyone for the replies!

MIB999999... I only hope that if you happen to be there the day I am, that you are in my car and NOT across from me!!!!! :)

I think I'll give this a try. Maybe the Cat in the Hat made me nauseous because not only does it spin, it is also kind of jerky. It sounds like MIB is more of a smooth ride, with just the spins to contend with.

Besides, I'll be so busy trying to beat my DH's score that tobrien and robinrs are right! I'll be too busy trying to shoot at things to get sick! :)

Have a great time! I concentrate on making sure I hit that darned red button at the right time!:D

There is spinning on MIB???

I am always too busy shooting aliens to notice!!! :D

MIB...you scare me...seek help!;)

Anyway,
I don't go on tea cups, especially after the "incident" I had at 6 Flags (it involved my cup being the cup that everyone points and laughs at thanks to my brother!), and Cat in the Hat has a spin that makes your eyeballs hurt... :(

But, MIB has the sort of spinning that A. you ARE too distracted to notice and B. Sorry, I don't know...I was distracted.

Anyway, that said...spinning rides for me, NO...but I go on MIB at least 10 times in a row if time (and my children) allow! You should be FINE!!! Read MIB's handbook too...you'll definitely be too distracted to notice the spinning of YOUR car...just the other car as you make them spin! :D

Sorry MsDisney but details are the path to virtue, not to mention 999,999 :D :D

MsPotatoHead: if you are there on a saturday and riding between 10:30am and 12:00, and again between 1:15 and 4:00 your chances of spinning out of control are greatly enhanced. I always ride single rider so be afraid, be very afraid :D

Whew! Sounds like it's a good thing we'll be there on a Friday instead of a Saturday, MIB999999! :) You're scary!!!!! :)

MsDisney, you cracked me up with your comments! But sorry to hear about your "incident" at 6 Flags. I have yet to have any major incidents, but sometimes feel as if I could! Yikes!!! :) I came close to having an incident on BTTF a few years back. Ugh! And although I loved Spiderman, I unfortunately won't be able to ride that one ever again.... You know the feeling..... you start to sweat a little and then start to salivate... You know the ride had better end soon!!!! Oh, I'd better wrap this up!!! Probably more detail than non-motion-sick people want to know!!!! :)

Mrs. PotatoHead...
LOL, luckily my incident wasn't what YOU have envisioned!

It was just that the type of spinning that was involved was such that my ability to walk or function (think migraine type of pain!) for the rest of our day there wasn't there! It was the first ride we went on that day, and I was never the same.

I still believe gray matter escaped through my ears that day....

Anywho...good luck!

Karen
