My in laws moved our plans from Tuesday at Disney to Easter at Disney. I warned them I had heard horror stories, but they assured me they would be prepared. They're first timers... and I'm less certain. Anybody know how bad it is or have any suggestions I can do to help? My trips have been in March (non Easter time) , February, and September, and Sept was the least crowded... how bad is Easter usually?

Am I overanalyzing this? I just want to make sure the kids we are taking have fun.

Just thought I would ask to see if anyone had first hand experience.

The only time worse then Easter is Christmas! :scared1:

The thread the PP posted will help out quite a bit. We did Easter 2007 at the parks and YIKES.

One major hint...stay away from MK on Easter. Far far away! ;)

Epcot was really nice that day. It's a huge park so the crowds aren't quite as noticable. And make sure you talk to a few CMs. They had some great activities for kids scheduled.

Were you planning on any table service meals? It may be hard to get reservations now.
You could also subscribe to Tour Guide Mike and find out which are the least crowded parks on which days.

We were there Easter of '06 and we stayed away from the parks on Easter as the days surrounding them were horrible.

We are headed back again this year and we will stay away from all parks on Easter Sunday...If you are taking kids that have never been before, you better plan and start your days real early or they may have alot of very long lines to stand in.

My kids don't mind this time of year because they don't care if they don't get to do it all - but we've been planning this for 10 months and have our ADR's all in place and look forward to getting away from Chicago weather.

Just subscribing because I am taking my daughters down to WDW during that time for a girls only trip. We've been to WDW tons of times but not ever specifically during Easter....the last week in March is always our spring break and we've gone to WDW during break before, but in the past avoided WDW trips during Easter.

???Does anybody know if the resorts have special Easter activities for guests? Particularly the Swan or the Grand Floridian??:confused3

Happy travels,

Lives4Disney :)

I have been for Thanksgiving, New Years, Easter, in September, in October, in February, and in the summer. The absolute worst trip for crowds was New Years 2000. A very close second was Easter :scared1: . They were using the cruise line buses to bring people to the parks because the monorail and regular buses were swamped. It was a nightmare! That is the one time of year we will never visit WDW again!

We went one year and on Easter I think we were at the MK. Maybe it was early in the morning, then went back to the CR to swim. I don't recall it being too bad honestly, but we NEVER stay all day at the MK, just a few hours in the mornings, then leave. It ALWAYS gets too crowded for me there in the afternoon. I think you just have to plan and stick to your schedule that day. Now, Christmastime (the week after Christmas) was CRAZY BUSY! Thank God we just enjoyed our resort most days!

we will be there with you nothing can be as bad as the middle of summer. and we still had a blast just have a great trip :goodvibes

We were at MK last for Easter Sunday and it wasn't as bad as I had imagined after reading the comments from others.

We were there the second the park opened and got on all the rides with minimal wait. Around noon is when the crowds started coming. So, we went back to the hotel and hung out at the pool for the afternoon and returned in the evening to eat dinner and go on a few more rides.

Since I imagined the worst, I was pleasantly surprised.

We were there Easter of '06 and yes it was crowded but manageable. Will be there this Easter too. This time though we plan on going to Epcot on Sunday not MK. Can't wait!! :yay:

HI.
I was there Easter of 2006 at the MK. It wasn't bad at all. We utilized fast passes and had very little waiting to do.

We enjoyed breakfast at CRT on Easter morning too.

The weather was great.

Good luck

Hello all,
Thanks for the info... well, the in-laws are set on it. Here's hoping they are prepared... any other tips would be much appreciated! We are taking a diverse group... from 55 down to 7 years old... it should be chaotic... let's just hope it is fun chaotic.
Thanks and take care,
J.
