How bad is disney plus with ads?

We dropped disney plus about 5 months ago. Thought we'd buy a month here and there. Saw on FB a deal for $3 a month with ads for four months. So how bad are the commercials? A standard hour show on the networks is about 1/3 commercials. We watch mostly movies and some of the star wars shows. Not so much kids shows.

I got the black Friday deal with ads. We still primarily watch live TV so ads don't bother me. The first show I binged was Lilo and Stitch the series. There wasn't a single ad in the entire series which left me very confused. 😅 We haven't watched a lot of movies yet. The Black Cauldron did have a couple of ad breaks. I can't speak for Star Wars, but the other series we've watched do have ads, but they are much shorter and infrequent than live TV. The ads in the movies bother me more than the ads in the series.

I read a review that stated some kids show don’t have ads at all. And a movie had about 5 mins worth. But then I noticed it was written two years ago.

We never watch network series on the first run. We’ll wait three years for it to show up on prime.

We’ll probably try it for a month. Can’t get much cheaper than three bucks.

Thanks for the info.

We also dropped it a few months ago, but was wondering the same about this new deal. Will wait till closer to end of month before we sign up again.

Far fewer ads than OTA TV. If we are watching a movie, SOMEONE is going to need a break to go to the bathroom or get a snack, so ads have not been an issue for us. Although we RARELY watch anything on Disney Plus or Hulu (we have the bundle). Only thing we have watched is Only Murderers in the Building, and we haven't started the current season yet. I guess I am just not a good streaming customer. We had Netflix and YouTube TV and dropped them due to lack of use. I have the free version of Peacock, and haven't used it in at least a year. My Dish Network service is my primary TV source. Audio too, since I am listening to Casey Kasem's American Top 40 from 1972 on the Dish right now. Although Dish is getting sneaky, squeezing in more channels that are being received by streaming, not via satellite. Johnny Carson, Carol Burnett channels as an example. They just added over 100 channels that are actually streaming, not coming in on your dish.

Very bad. Kids hated it…but it is cheaper!

I've watched various streaming services with ads. They do not have ads like live TV with 3-5 minutes of commercials every 15 minutes. Instead it's more like 2-3 ad breaks per movie of about 45 seconds per break.

I think they realized if the ads are going to be like TV, one might as well get live TV. Plus, most people don't sit through the TV commercial breaks. They are used to go to the bathroom or to get something to eat or drink. Whereas, the streamers probably hope you will sit through the mini breaks and possible buy the products the breaks are for.

I hated the ads. Not necessarily because they are too frequent, but they were very repetitive, always the same ads for the same movies or series on Disney+. After the 20th identical ad for Moana 2 or Skeleton Crew I wanted to break something. It was an offer at reduced price, but after the 3 months duration, I knew: If I ever buy Disney+ regularly, it will be worth it to pay for the ad-free version.

I've had both no ads (d23 special and then a good deal for renewal) and then with ads.

Ads aren't that much. I also watch regular TV, news and shows, so I'm used to ads.

Its good for $3/month. 😆

For the lower price, I can live with the ads. It's kind of like watching the free version of YouTube. It's not bad.
