How bad is December 26th?

O. K., anyone out there been to MK in particular on the day AFTER the big day? (or any of the other park for that matter)

We'd love to sleep a "little" later and have breakfast at O'hana's...possibly get to a park by that dreaded 11:00 hour...what do you think?

I know it's a 10 on the Touringplans scale, and the busiest week of the year - I guess I am looking for some sort of reaussurance that it MIGHT be O.K.

Depends on what your version of O.K. is. The MK on the 26th will still be really crowded. Sleeping late and having breakfast later will get you into a park, but it will still be crowded. We have been to Disney Studios after the 25th and found it crowded, but not like the MK. When I say crowded, I mean really long lines with a sea of people. With the MK it was more like a sea of people that barely moved. Many FP machines will be giving out really late times-not even close to your 11:00 entrance time. MK will be open at 7:00 a.m. on that day, so people will be pouring in for 4 hours before you get there. Disney has also added an EMH for MGM at 8:00 a.m. Just prepare yourself mentally, and you will be fine.

If you get to the MK by 11AM, you might be locked out if the park has reached capacity. You'll have to go to another park. Could be AK or Disney Studios.

During Christmas week, this happens a lot. At least twice a day.

I agree. If you plan on doing anything at all on Christmas Week you must be at the parks early! By 11 AM the MK parking lot will be closed, the park will already be very crowded (and perhaps even maxed out), and FastPasses will be available for times in the mid to late afternoon. Wake up early and take a mid-day nap or plan to spend your day away from the parks.

We were there in 2002 and the MK was no longer accepting guests because the park had reached capacity.

Real bummer...we spent the day at MGM.

I was at the MK on December 26th ONCE! I was 13 I think...and I'm still scarred at 32! That was the day I decided I would not go to Disney over Christmas ever again! The park closed at 10am due to full capacity. It was shoulder to shoulder people and probably the only time I remember being at Disney at it not being fun. I know there are people that can do it, and God love ya'll, but I don't have the patience.
