How bad is Cinderella's Royal Table? Should we replace it?

chocolateMinnie:

Just to be clear -- my complaint was about the restaurant and experience being bad. It was NOT about it being over-priced. I think the OOP cost isn't all that bad for lunch, although one should definitely not pay with dining credits that could be spent instead at Jiko.

My complaint had to do with our being terribly rushed and getting no character interaction due to the fact that lunch is now done as follows:

-fill up the restaurant,
-rush out the food,
-run the princesses around the room,
-wish on a star
-hurry everyone out
-repeat.

They are running everyone through like it's an assembly line. Perhaps dinner is different, but I'd bet breakfast is exactly the same.

:thumbsup2 Our breakfast a couple of weeks ago was the same. Belle wouldn't wait for my 4 year old to wipe her hands of syrup and she wouldn't bend / squat down to get a picture of my 1 year old in his high chair.

To another poster who said that most of the complaints are about the price, yes, the price is high, but the quality of service and character interaction has gotten pathetic over the years at CRT. This was out least magical experience.

Good grief. Pigs will fly before I head to Staten Island, Brooklyn, Queens or Bronx for a meal.

If it ain't in Manhattan, it doesn't exist.

1. You talkin' to me? Are you talkin' to me?

2. Its THE Bronx ..make sure you put 'THE' when you talk about the Bronx, capesh?

You can see its legal name in this post from the NYC administratice code

New York City Administrative Code -
Title 2
City of New York

§ 2–202 Division into boroughs and boundaries thereof. The city of New York is hereby divided into five boroughs to be designated, respectively: Manhattan, The Bronx, Brooklyn, Queens and Staten Island.

Anyway...manhatten is just like the Castle..everyone should experience it once.

There is some strange rule apparently that the princesses are not allowed to bend or squat (cleavage? unseemly? who knows!). I'm sorry Belle wouldn't wait for you. We had one of our most fun experiences when our 3 yo DD lunged at Mary Poppins with her hands covered in chocolate syrup. I tried to grab her and said to Mary Poppins, "Look out! Her hands are filthy!" She calmly jumped back, whipped out a napkin and wiped off my adoring daughter's hands. She winked at me and said, "It's okay. I am a nanny, you know..."

We loved the castle meal. It was the only one our twins (boy/girl) requested for our upcoming trip.

We had breakfast in the castle, right after DD's appointment in the BBB. We LOVED it! DD even asked for seconds of everything and said it was her favorite meal of the whole trip. The characters were great and all of them asked about her arm. We'll be doing the castle again next time for sure.

I have reservations at CRT well ahead of the time for the Spectromagic I'm expecting to attend. Is this a mistake? How is this place, really? I've never gotten to eat at the castle, but I don't want to be in a bad mood there either

If we replace it we will likely to go with Cosmic Ray's :lovestruc or the Plaza.

Thanks in advance!

Well if you absolutly have to eat in the castle then do it especially if you have young girls that it will be a special experience for. I mean what little girl would not LOVE to eat in THE CASTLE! princess:

If you are just going for the food then skip it. Especialy if you would be happy at Cosmic rays or the Plaza, which in my opinon is the best food in MK! I would much rather eat at the the Plaza and look at the castle.

Now MY opinion of CRT. If you are willing to eat sub par food served to you because it is being served in the castle then enjoy. Not even a free pick with a princess is worth it. I am not willing to eat there again. If I want to meet Cinderella I go to 1900 Park fare at the GF. If I want a quality meal in a million dollar location then I head to the California Grill or Narcoossee's. If I want subpar theme park food then I head to a couter service location. If WDW changes the quality of food served then I would go back in heartbeat. That will never happen though becaue it is THE hardest ADR to obtain. If people say "enough" and demand to be served food worthy of $50 WDW might listen, but like I sai dit will never happen!

We ate in the Castle during the last week of August and had a great time and meal. I had the salad which was awesome and crisp and the prime rib which was delicous - my husband had the soup which he said was good and the lamb which was a little dry. The kids loved their chicken noodle soup, pasta and chicken nuggets. You are playing for the food, photo, show and to day that you have eaten in THE Disney Landmark - for that alone and the fact that gratuity is included - I think it is worth it at least once in your life. Go for It!

We love breakfast at CRT and are returning for our 3rd breakfast there in March. If they only brought me the stuffed french toast topped with blueberry sauce, I'd be happy. It's just so cool to be in the castle. Even my very macho/typical teenager 13 year old son loves it. Of course my two dds (ages 3 and 7) love it.

We just came back yesterday with my 2 year old son and 4 year old daughter. We went there for my daughter's b-day. It was our least favorite out of the 5 character meals we attended. It was just okay and nothing we'd ever do again. Would of much rather had another character dining instead of using 2 TS credits for it
