How bad could the walk really be at BWV?

OK i've read alot on these boards about long walks back to your rooms at the BWV how bad is it really? In our past trips we've stay at POR and our room was pretty far from the main building but we didn't feel like it was a long way except a little at days end. It just my thinking but in comparing the too even the time we stayed in Oak Mansion(which i considered the short walk)the farthest BWV room has to still be better than that what do you think?

it will be okay

you are in air-conditioner place - not outside where the heat is pretty bad like at POR.

the best views at BWV - BW views are just about the farthest.

if you get at the end of the building - remember there are steps - this place has lots of them.

you will love it!!!

Personally, my family and I didn't think the walk was too bad at all! It only took a couple of minutes and we were the 2nd to last door! The only time it was a slight problem was carrying groceries up to our room, but that was partially our fault too as we decided to do it in one trip from the self parking lot (LOL).

We don't mind a few steps to our room. After all, we are walking all day at the parks, so how could we complain about a few more steps when we get to relax in our home after that last step. I know it is a problem for some, but for us it is not. Our view of the boardwalk was worth every step!

I should note that we also prefer to walk to MGM and EPCOT from the BWV instead of taking the boats, and we also get off at the swan/dolphin bus stop and walk back to the BWV everytime since it is faster than all the bus stops along the way to the BWV :) Perhaps I am not the best judge of the hallway walk.

My kids actually enjoy "the halls of Boardwalk Villas". They always race down the hall to see who gets to use their room key.
We find it to be great fun to watch the race.

Honestly. I really don't see what the fuss is all about. We spend our whole day on our feet. If you can't handle a resort hallway, I really can't understand what you'd be doing at WDW in the first place.

And compared to OKW..... which walk is shorter... OKW room to the main pool, BWV room to the main pool. Last time we stayed at OKW the walk was so far, we had to pack the car and drive!

As Kim Possible would say, "So not the drama."
Given all the rest of the walking in a day at WDW a few hundred feet in BWV is, "No Big.''

It's really not that bad, and I think shorter than Oak Mansion to Lobby (which I'm familiar with) . It just seems long I think because
1) - it's in a hallway
2) the hallway has slight bends - so as you're walking along, you think you're at the end and then, no, there's just a bend and more hallway. This happens a couple times. I think it's a case of mistaken expectations causing it to seem like a long walk

We were in 1136 in late July and we called the hall the "neverending hallway". We clocked it from the lobby - it was a tenth of a mile. When compared to the 6-7 mile walking days we had while we were there, it wasn't much. But I have to admit this is the first resort we've stayed in that it *felt* long at the end (or even in the middle) of a long day of park walking.

Mur!

if you go by some of the posters here on the DIS its like 3 miles:crazy:
We've been twice to BWV within a year and had a room almost to the end and its not that long a walk.

This is truly a case of "much ado about nothing".

I put the "long walk to room" comments in the same category as the "tiny rooms" comments.

I agree with Granny.

Other than being a bit tired at the end of the day, I believe anyone who tours the parks then complains about the walk to their room is a hypocrite. If you can walk miles and miles in a park in a day, then you can certainly walk a possible few hundred yards to your room.

It's a JOKE!!

(It always amazes me how some of us take Rich for serious)

I don't think the original poster took this as a joke, or she wouldn't have started this thread.

I think new posters/lurkers might not know others' sense of humor. And I've seen this comment from a lot more people than just Rich.

We've been way down at the end near Jellyrolls twice and the only time the walk seemed long was the first time down (where is it....where is it....wanna get changed and out into the parks......). After that it's really no big deal.

Like the other posters, I equate it to the amount of walking in the parks and it becomes a non-issue.

I adore the BWV. Yes, some rooms are a looong walk...

....but they're worth the hike! ;)

Our first two stays we actually had a pretty short walk to our room. This May we had room at the end of a hallway. We didn't think it wasn't near as bad as some of the posters had alluded to. I have to say for the view of the canal we had, it was worth every step. Also, as one of the previous posters said there are stairwells all over. In fact, one night we took the walkway back from MGM and the stairwell door closest to our room was the one right off the walkway so it was actually a very short walk up one set of stairs.

Compared to our usual OKW car-to-room walk, it sure seems like 3 miles!

We're just spoiled :D

My wife and I stayed near the far elevator at BCV, so we were close to the parking lot, but far from the BC lobby etc. Many would consider that walk to be long as well, I'm sure, but I need very bit of calorie-burning exercise I can get, especially on vacation! I guess it wasn't enough though, because I tried some "school clothes" on the other day (I'm a teacher), and as usual, they seem to have shrunk in the past nine weeks!

We usually have a room at the end of the hallway...I love it and don't mind the walk at all....
