We are thinking of going to DL in late June. I know that is a very crowded time of year, and am wondering how bad is bad :) How do the crowds compare to WDW this time of year? We have never been to DL and this is the only time during the summer that we have free :(

Thanks in advance :)

The earlier in the summer the better for both crowds and weather. Late June probably compares with WDW in summer for crowds, but is superior to WDW for weather (not as stifling hot and no thunder storms). GCA is not nearly as crowded as DL.

You can have a great time, but you need to go early and use Fast Pass. If the parkhopper plus option is still available (through Disney or AAA), that's a great way to go. It allows you to get multiple fastpasses, but I'm not sure if it will be available in 2004. In the summer the parks will be open longer hours. I like to start early, take an afternoon nap, and come back in the evenings.

We went last year I think around June 20th. The weather was nice, the crowds tolerable, the park hours decent.

I personally would not intentionally choose a July or August date. But then again I am "reasonably local" so our DL trips are not time sensitive.

We've been to Disneyland in late June many times, and personally, I think the crowds are not as overwhelming as WDW. We've been to WDW twice during the "off season," and I found the crowds then to be comparable to Disneyland in June. If you have to go in the summer, June will be the best time for sure, and the weather will be beautiful!

Have fun!:D
