How are you going to use your VGF2 points?

I was in a Poly studio, and family in another, both had fridges 3 weeks ago. I think someone is trying to get people riled up, changing to beverage coolers make no sense. It’s not that much cheaper, they already did the refurb, and 1/2/3 brs (not at Poly granted) still have them. Who knows.

Could be somebody was confused, maybe only the hotel side is getting them

I was in a Poly studio 2 weeks ago and we had a cooler not a fridge. I did not take any of my food to go because I didn't trust it to keep it at a safe temp.
I hope you send an email to DVC management (via the Contact Us link on the member website) telling them how this switch from fridge to beverage cooler affected your stay. Beverage coolers are not designed to keep milk and other potentially hazardous foods at safe temperatures, but guests whose stays are directly affected by the change need to report it.

Did your "cooler" have a glass door where you can see-through? Or, did it look like a mini-fridge but was missing a freezer?

We stayed at a renovated room in November, and the mini-fridge did not have a freezer section, but otherwise was a fully functioning mini-fridge. The beverage coolers I've seen were only in the hotel rooms (Pop Century had them in June), and were glass coolers. Image below. Again, I have not seen them in any DVC room I've stayed at since August 2021 and we have stayed at studios at SSR, Poly, RIV, CCV, BLT, and BWV.

However, not all studios had a freezer compartment. All mini-fridges kept milk and all items cold.
