Just wondering how the steaks were on the Wonder? My husband is a steak fanatic and I would hate for him to be disappointed.:earsgirl:

DO NOT miss Palo. The filet is absolutely awesome!

Ditto Barb - the filet is MELT IN YOUR MOUTH. It makes my mouth drool just thinking about it!

The prime rib is surprisingly good considering they're cooking for thousands and I wanted medium rare - it was GREAT!

Dh and our friend's dh had beef a lot and loved it every night

I enjoyed the filet at lunch at Palo much better than the filet at dinner at Palo. Can't wait to dine there again ::yes::

At regular dinner, it's OK.

At Palo's, they're MAGICal (or for your trip, WONDERful).

Enjoy!!

The filet at Palo is amazing! ! !:hyper:

However, I've tried the tenderloin twice at Triton's and have found it fatty and pretty gross. On the same two cruises, my DH's tenderloin was wonderful. I think it depends on the cut you get. Really hit or miss. I'd suggest ordering two entrees so that you have a back up, or skipping it at Triton's and just savor Palo's.:D

OK, I'm a Texas Steak SNOB. Have rarely found anyone who can cook it better than my DH at home on the grill over hickory coals with meat from our excellent butcher shop (NOT grocery store).

With that background, I agree that the filet in Palo was melt in your mouth delicious.

I'm the dissenter here. I had steak in the main dining room and at Palo, and just found them OK, not great. They were well prepared, but not that flavorful. That being said, I'm so spoiled by my husband's preparation of steaks on the grill, I didn't even care for our last steak at Morton's! (we buy Omaha Steaks.)

I had steak twice on our Carnival cruise two weeks ago, and I did find the meat there to have a lot more flavor.

I'm with jodifla. I found the steaks to be tasteless for the most part - including at Palo. I would venture out and try something else if I were to go to Palo again.

Erin :D

we found the meat to be over cooked. If you like it medium, ask for medium rare. if you like it rare, good luck!

But it tasted good! (after I figured out how to order it)

the steaks are so aewesome. I was a vegetarian beforei went on the wonder. I havent found another steak that i liked better since.::yes::

The beef steaks are bad. Living in Iowa, growing up in Nebraska, I am spoiled. I want my beef corn feed and aged. I avoid the beef on the ship. We even ate at Shula's on the Beach in Ft. Lauderdale and the steak was dry and tastless. That place is suppose to awesome beef.

If you aren't picky you will be OK but I don't even like Omaha steaks. The package I received as a gift was full of grissle. Yuck. We never finished the package.

The seafood was good but then, I am not use to the fresh stuff people from the coastlines are use too.

Just remember my motto: if I don't have to cook or clean up, I will never go hungry. I always find somthing to eat that is good. Just avoid things you are picky about.

Palo's excluded, the best meat entree I had was the pan fried veal chop. It was offered on one of our Animator's Palate days. It had a parmesan crust and was served with risotto. Very yummy! It's not exactly a steak, but it sort of is.

does anyone know the grade of the steaks on board? usda-prime, usda-choice or (god forbid ) usda-select. i wonder if they carry a better grade at palo than at the other locations.

My opinion on the 6/3/04 Wonder late seating
Triton garlic-roasted tenderloin was tasty, but on the dry side
Animator Palate grilled sirloin was tasteless and dry as if I was eating a tire
Parrot Cay prime rib outstanding
