How are the security lines if on-site?

I've been seeing lots of crazy line pictures online recently of people at Universal - mostly of people in the parking garage. The new security measures seem to be causing lots of crowds. Last time we went was the start of December, so these new security measures weren't in place. We'll be onsite for our next trip, staying at CB. Are there crazy security crowds just an issue for off-site or is on-site effected too?

Security checks for hotel guests will be at the boat docks or walking paths to city walk

Thanks - that's how it was the last time we went, but that was before the recent extra security measures so I didn't know if it had changed.

I think you're doing Cabana, correct? Not sure where the detectors are now but you may have to go through them if you bus over.

Last week there was a bag check and sometimes a wand at the boat dock, and a metal detector and bag check at the end of the walking path. Neither causing much of a holdup.

Unless they moved it recently, the bus stop for Cabana Bay is at the main parking lot hub and you would be going though the same bag check/metal detectors as day guests.

It sounds like the checkpoints have been moved back closer to the garage. Hopefully, that will help CB people miss the long lines.

There are detetors at top of escalators for the bus riders.
