How are the lovebugs this week?

Lookng for any reports. Are they diminishing yet?

worse than ever. It looks like it is snowing lovebugs.

we just returned last evening. They would come out in full force around 11:30am, seem to like the hot sun. I have never seen anything like it! They would completely cover our hotel room door. Did bother us at the parks though.

Actually, I think they are out in force in the morning and evening hours. They don't like the sun. Made a one hour trip over to Lake City for son's noon soccer game and we got belted pretty good. Drive back during the heat wasn't very bad. Ever notice that funky odor when you wash them off the car? Dead love bug has a distinct smell.

Did a search so I could see what you all were talking about with these bugs...I was there in May and saw bunches of them at the Contemporary. First time I had ever come into contact with them and hoping they'll start to diminish in numbers by the end of October

We just returned today. The bugs were worse at Animal Kingdom than at any other park, especially on when on the Safari. They also were out in full force around the pool (POR) in during the day and early evening.

Do these bugs bite or are they harmless? Does bug spray make any difference?

We were at Animal Kingdom yesterday and they were terrible. We live in the south so we are very aware of them but they seem to be really terrible this year.

They don't bite and they are harmless but kids don't understand that. I don't know about bug spray though.

We just returned from WDW yesterday. we were there for 8 days. The bugs were bad around most of the bus stops and definitely at AK and the AKL. Hardly noticed them at MGM and Epcot. MK was worse earlier in the week. One of the bus drivers said they should be disappearing in about a week or so. Not sure if that's true or not, just passing on information I heard.

I can't believe that I forgot when they're at WDW and I booked a 3 day trip last week. Unfortunately, this was an R&R trip and so I had hoped to sit by the pool most of the time. The weather was hot, sunny and gorgeous and the flies were everywhere. Many of us gave up and left the pool area as the relaxation was minimal, having to swat at yourself non-stop. I hate lovebugs but many people don't mind the sensation of having them land on you all day. I wish that I could be more positive but I'm not a fan. Threehearts

The one ride photo that we bought at EE has a pair of them clearly doing what love bugs do while sitting on my thigh as we rode. Luckily, we did not get any on our faces or in our teeth! Maggie

I can feel you on that one. They are sooooo annoying. I find them worse at AK and MGM.

I'm just back from an awesome vacation 15-23 and all I have to say is.. it would have been a PERFECT trip if there were no LOVE BUGS

first I have never heard of these bugs till this week when we arrived they were ok but by mid week (after a day of rain) they were HORRIBLE!! the bus stops at CRS were FULL of them!! the bus windshields were gross and as soon as I got home I scrubbed the bottom of all my shoes

I talked to some people from FL and they said they have never seen it this bad

HOWEVER THE GOOD NEWS IS by our last day they had died down and a CM I talked to said he thinks they should be gone in about a week or so!!

I'm so bummed to be back but glad to know there are no LoveBugs where I'm from!!

I WAS AT MGM ON WEDNESDAY TOO THEY WERE HORRIBLE!!!!! Thursday I was at MK where they were pretty bad too! I got to the top of Astro-Orbiter and say all the bugs and took the elevator right back down!!
