How are the lines during evening EMH?

We're not morning people, so morning EMH is not something we're taking advantage of, but my plan is to hit a couple evening EMH in Epcot and Magic Kingdom. Are the lines much shorter during these hours? I'm thinking of doing Test Trak during this time since we're doing FP+ for Frozen and Soarin' on the 2 Epcot days we'll be doing. Also wouldn't mind getting a chance to re-ride a couple rides with normally long lines.

At Epcot, the PM EMH lines are generally long.

At MK, the later the PM EMH begins, the shorter the lines.

In Epcot, expect headliner ride lines to be shorter during EMH than during the day, but still not short, since Epcot has only a few headliner attractions.

In Magic Kingdom, we've had a fantastic EMH experience with short lines when EMH starts at midnight. If your EMH starts at 10pm, I wouldn't count on it being as helpful. Lines will still be shorter during EMH than before, and will get exponentially shorter as EMH goes on and regular guests gradually get flushed out of the lines (they'll typically be allowed to get into line right up until EMH begins).

Another thing that helps with EMH in all parks is there is no FastPass- it's all standby. So even if a line looks as long as a standby line during the day, it will move significantly faster without FastPass slowing the standby line down.

If you can switch that Soarin' FP+ for a TT one, I think you'll have better luck with shorter lines at Soarin' than you will at TT. The wait at Soarin' has improved with the addition of another theater.

Yep, we've always had good luck at evening EMH at MK, though you should still expect long lines for 7DMT, Space Mountain and Big Thunder. Lines get shorter as the evening goes on. Epcot only has a few rides so expect longer lines.

The later an EMH is, the less people will be there. If your emh night is at 9 or 10pm, then don't expect too short of lines. If your emh were at midnight and lasting until 2am, then that's when you'll see really short lines.

Lines do drop down for Emh but majority of the rides will still have a wait of somesort

I'm going the last 2 weeks of January, which I believe is considered value season, so the hours are much shorter. My EMH will start at 9 at Epcot and 8 at Magic Kingdom. Extremely late EMH aren't really an option for me, but maybe value season helps? Test Trak is really the only big ride I'm expecting to do during either of these EMH. I was hoping to maybe get on 7DMT again, but that's not important since I will fastpass it some time during my trip.

If you can switch that Soarin' FP+ for a TT one, I think you'll have better luck with shorter lines at Soarin' than you will at TT. The wait at Soarin' has improved with the addition of another theater.

Thanks for the tip. The problem is my whole party wants to do Soarin' as it is one of our favorites from DCA, while several of us are unsure about Test Trak. We want to see the ride in person and judge if it's too fast for us, so we would rather get the fastpasses for everyone on Soarin' and know we'll use them. It's possible only a couple of us go on Test Trak, so it may be a waste to get fastpasses for it. We could possibly do single rider, but I thought EMH might help us get on together.

Test Track is not too fast, unless you never drive over 45 miles an hour. Its top speed is maybe 65 mph on the outside track. The bank turn is different, but still no issues. There are some sharp turns and cuts while on the inside. It will jerk you around, but nothing extreme. SO - its not a roller coaster type ride. It is a drive in a car.

Just so you're aware, you won't be able to "see" the fast part of Test Track. Most of the ride is indoors -- and is all very slow and very tame. The outdoor part, which, as PP said, is the only fast part of the ride, has a track, but the way it is built, you can't actually see the cars on it.

But, PP is right. It's a convertible where you hit 65 mph on a banking turn. It's all ver straightforward-- no loops, dips, etc. It's just like you were driving a car on a racetrack, only you don't ever get past 65.

You'll get to do it with a little patience. Every trip we visit Epcot for only 1 day, and we typically FP Soarin' (my son's favorite), and we do TestTrack standby (not single rider), during the day. Even then, it isn't terrible unless you're one of those people who flat-out refuses to wait for anything. There's always something interesting to look at, and the wait never seemed as long as the wait time posted outside. The TT standby line is more narrow & therefore more orderly than the wide standby line at Soarin', where it always seemed people were trying to edge past us.

Since you mention DCA, Test Trak is WDW's version of Radiator Springs Racers. If they like RSR, they'll like TT. If they don't like RSR, they probably won't care for TT.

Doesn't sound too bad. We will probably do it.

I'm surprised to hear you can't see the cars. You can completely see the cars race through RSR if you stand outside the ride.

Good to know. Also, to add to your point of the line, I have heard Soarin' has the most boring line, at least in comparison to Test Trak and the other headliners in Epcot. Waiting in the interactive line of Test Track is probably more bearable without a fastpass.

I have heard this, but I've heard people say it's faster than RSR, and honestly, anything faster would be too much for me and my family. We love RSR, so if it's the same speed, we'll probably be fine with Test Track.

Yes, Test Track's standby line does have more variety & more to see than Soarin's line. That's another good point.
