How are the Days Inns in Orlando?

We cancelled Knights Inn last night and booked with Days, I can't imagine that they would be too bad ,due to popularity
and all but, just want to make sure and I believe it is on Irlo Bronson.

We stayed in one on Irlo Bronson a few years ago and it was perfectly fine. They have a really good breakfast buffett in their rest. onsite. Nice pool area with a Tikki Bar. I can't remember the exact name of the Days Inn, but I think it was Days Inn Maingate. There are lots of shops to walk to also and Olde Town is practically next door. We wanted to stay there again this year, but could not get the rate I wanted (the same rate we got the last time) and we needed two rooms. So we went with Cypress Pointe instead.

My DD and I stayed in the Days Inn Maingate West a few years ago on a comando style trip. We were out each day at 7AM and came back @11PM, so we basically only slept there. Everything was fine, except for a leaky air conditioner which I had to call about three times. The first two times they told me it was fixed, but it wasn't. I really did not appreciate having to call repeatedly about the same issue. However, it was clean, I felt safe and never had any problems for the time we spent there. I think I only paid 32.00 a night through Hotel Kingdom, so how much can I really complain? There was a clean pool, small childrens play yard, a laundry, and a small restaurant onsite that we only ate at the night before we left. My DD ate for free. I have heard to stay away from Days Inn in Orlando, but my experience was fine for a cheap place to sleep.

Not sure what you are paying but you can probably get a better deal and place if you try with Priceline..

Be careful, we stayed at a Days Inn in Orlando in March the night we got there. It looked very nice at the entrance and in the lobby but when we got to our room I was so worried about bugs crawling on me during the night that I couldn't go to sleep. Our room was in the back and looked nothing like the rooms to the front of the hotel. Be leary because looks can be decieving and Days Inn is pretty popular, but one vs. another, they can be on totally different levels. Hope your hotel is good. Enjoy your trip.

I think you are talking about the one I told you we stayed at a few years ago. The rest. is only open for breakfast and the kids eat free. Our room was towards the back of the hotel and it really was perfectly fine. No bugs either. Nice and clean. The bug issue on here really puzzles me. Does no one here have a bug at there home. I can understand if it is infested, but I live in the country and my fiance' lives even farther in the country than I do. We both are clean freaks, but occassionally we DO have a bug or two. Enjoy your trip and if you see the occassional bug, KILL it. I really don't think you have anything to worry about.

I believe Days Inns are independently owned fanchises and will vary from hotel to hotel. I have stayed at some pretty nice ones and some, well, not so nice ones in my days. You may wantto check out www.tripadvisor.com to see if there are any reviews.

I also second the motion regarding priceline.

I never said I saw any bugs, it was just very hard to sleep, because the room was so old and dirty and disgusting, I guess it was just me worrying about the thought of a bug getting on me in the night, and by the look of the room we were in bugs being there seemed very possible. I was just trying to relate that like someone else stated, each of the days inn are owned and operated independently, and you cannot expect the same result at each of the hotel locations. For instance, we booked a trip in Atlanta, Georgia when I was 16, another family who was traveling with us also booked we ended up at two different days inns by mistake, they were on the same road. Our was terrible, there's was wonderful, so we transferred to theirs, just saying unless you've already stayed at one specific one it would be very easy to book one and find it not to your liking, there are so many in Orlando, I'm sure this happens to people all the time all I am saying is to be careful.

My comment about bugs was not aimed at you. Please don't take it personally. I have seen several threads about bugs in this forum and I personally have not ever had a problem. The only problem I have had in Orlando was at the Rhodeway Inn on International Drive. The bathroom there was filthy. That bothers me more than the bugs. I guess the bugs don't bother me, unless it is hoards of them, because I was raised and live in the country. Now Lizards and snakes are different story. And I would hope I would not find those in any Hotel.

I did find a paper on the Days Inn we stayed at and I think this is the one the OP was asking about. Is it the Days Inn Maingate East 5820 West Irlo Bronson Mem. Hwy, Kissimmee? If that is the one then you shouldn't have a problem. I hope you got a good rate. It is nothing fancy, but is nice and clean. I just wouldn't pay an outrageous price for it. I have found that you can stay at nicer places with more amenities for the same price.
