How are the crowds?

We are getting there tomorrow and just wondered what the crowds are like. Have all the spring breakers arrived?

Crowd levels have been a solid 10 most of the week. Max. wait I saw at Toy Story was 150 mins. Same for RnR. Soarin was at an hour wait within an hour of park opening. We couldn't even move thru Fantasyland at one point last weekend.

All that said, we have had a GREAT time so far! Thanks to Ridemax our waits have been minimal. The worst part of all of this has been the lines at the CS restaurants in. the parks. They have been MOBBED at all hours. We waited a full hour in line to order at Pizza Planet in DHS. I have seen several TS
turn people away.

Crazy crowds. Took over an hour to get a milk shake at Ghiradelli chocolate yesterday evening.

Tuesday night Toy Story Mania had a wait of 240 minutes and all the fast passes were gone. A cast member told me to come back right before they close but we wanted to see Fantasmic so we didn't make it. Good luck!!!

There was a story earlier in the week, that Disney released a statement that they were actually overwhelmed at how early people started coming down for spring break, etc.

They hadn't expected it to be so crazy busy this week.

Is it possible the economy is really starting to pick back up again. I noticed in my area, restaurants have been crazy busy all week. Not just because it is St. Pat's day this week, but just in general.

Either we are all happy just to see winter over (it is almost 70 by this weekend here), or the economy really is coming back???

This is why I always bring snacks in my purse. I would not want to wait that long for CS. I hope it is not that crowded in May:scared1: But even with those crowds I would still rather be there now.

I know last Saturday that they extended the park hours at the MK. We did not find it horrible. The wait times posted were not that actual times we waited. We went to three parks in one day. Epcot, MGM, and then MK. Had a great time. I did notice alot of people checking in on Sunday.

Going next week. dreading the crowds.

Last went several yrs back over T-giving and it was manageable. Seems like this is going to be worse.

Really? 4 hours? For TSM? That must be a joke. Nobody would wait four hours for that ride.

Well, this may help to figure it out...it's March Break here in Canada...the exchange rate is phenomenal for us to come down south and spend our money there...we all LOVE Disney..well, maybe not ALL of us, but we should!!

We just got back yesterday. We got to Florida on Sunday March 7. That whole week was really good and not too busy at all. We also went on a day it was raining off and on in the morning but by afternoon it was a downpour. Minimal wait on everything. Than we went on Sunday March 14...it was INSANE!!! :scared1: Animal Kingdom in the morning wasn't bad but when we got to Epcot at 1:00 it was absolutely crazy. We also went to Hollywood Studios on Tuesday March 16 and you could barely move in there. Even the Great Movie Ride was a 45 minute wait. It was cool because we got to see the Western side with the bank robbery. We still had an awesome vacation. Can't wait to go back in September!!!

AHHH this is scaring me...I've never been down there with crowd levels like that...and I'm going in a a few weeks. FOUR HOURS to get onto one ride? Has anyone actually ever waited FOUR hours?? That is like an entire day....at that point I'd say forget it, I'm just gonna walk around and take it all in rather than spend my whole day in line!!

In a few weeks everything will go back down considerably. Right now most folks are getting close or on Easter break with school which is a huge crowd factor in Disney.

Most schools will be back in session around late April and the waits will go back to a "normal" time.

And if you eat CS at off peak times, you'll be fine!

We skip breakfast and eat lunch at 10:30-10:45 am. No waiting!

You think so? I work in a school so I am going during my town's April vacation...it probably coincides with many others vacations too :( Its April 11-15, so maybe the crowds will begin dying down at that point!!! This is just craziness!

Is it the trend that a lot of places have break either the week before or the week following Easter?

I'm telling you- it's those crazy canucks!! :rotfl2: I was chatting with a cm last night and he said that every other person seemed to be from Canada. He also said that AK was close to being shut down on Tuesday b/c it was so crowded. The crowd levels were 55,000 at 65,000 they begin to close the park. :surfweb:

We were able to get lunch yesterday at Tepon Edo because of a no show at about 3:30 . Love that place so glad we stopped at restaurant and asked if a lunch would be possible.

Fast passes were pretty much gone when we go to the park at noon. I think they still had some for Test Track. Waits for the ride in Norway and Mexico were 20-25 minutes and I have always almost walked on to both of these boat rides. We spent the whole day in World Showcase and did not even attempt to ride anything or do anything at the front of the park. As the day wore on the park got even more crowded, but was still enjoyable compared to July. BTW We still had to wear jackets to stay warm(family from Chicago, too) in the evening.
It was busier than the first weekend of March when we were at the MK.

I would say crowds this past week put summer crowds to shame. Last time we came in July and it was not nearly this busy. We had great success getting there at rope drop and using FP. We didn't wait more than 15 minutes for anything, and mostly less than 10 minutes.

And can you blame them with the exchange rate hovering at parity? We will be there the last week of April..hoping to find that everyone is back to school and work by then!!:thumbsup2
