This week, one year from now, I will be at WDW again. Please tell me,
how are the crowds? I plan on going for 5 nights, starting Sunday Jan 21st.

It feels just too far away ......

I was there last week and after MLK weekend the crowds were very low. No more than 30 minutes on all the rides. Most rides said 20 minutes but actually had no wait. I think this week is the best for crowds because there are no holidays and the Feb vacations haven't yet started. I think you picked a great week. The weather was also great. No rain at all (only once at night while we slept). Cool 70s all week. Hit 79 one day so we went to the pool. I will say that we went to Epcot on the day with EMH and it was much busier than other parks. We also went to Sea World on Wed and there were so few people that I rode the Kraken roller coaster twice without getting off because no one was waiting.

We just returned from WDW last night from our 4-day getaway (1/20 - 1/23.)The longest wait was for Space Mountain Saturday afternoon - 25 minutes! Several cast members said the last 2 weeks in January are the least crowded. Animal Kingdom was crowded Sunday but all attractions and shows had only 10-15 minute waits (do Kilimanjaro Safaris first though.) I highlighted the rides from the Unofficial Guide to WDW I thought would be good for us (DH, 5 y/o & 2 y/o) and used some of the touring plans but not in their entirety. We saw everything and more we wanted to at MGM, MK & AK. Have a wonderful trip - you picked the best time to go in my opinion!

i sure hope your right ..cause now i am hearing that this weekend they are expecting crowds like at EASTER!!!!! :scared:

Cyndibelle-
Any idea why the crowds would be so great this weekend? Is there something going on? And if not, how do they judge if it is going to be *that* crowded? My friend is leaving Friday to go to Disney so I want to give her a heads up if that's the case. Thanks!

All i know that is going on is the preview for expedition everest...and that is for those of us who have aps and i think it is for dvc holders too..but man...crowds like easter !!!!!...

Ugh are you sure how could it be that crowded? Anyone confirm the rumor?

I'm sure the AK will be packed. Will the rest of the parks have Easter-like crowds (e.g., 120+-minute waits for headliner attractions in the MK)? I doubt it.

boy i hope your right.it seems alot of folks are making a quick weekend trip to check out EE...so if that is the case...it could mean for long waits this weekend... :guilty:

Hey, we just got back last night. We were there from 1/19 thru 1/24. On 1/19 we had NO WAIT for anything, we did find that the weekends were busier, but we did Magic Kingdom and Epcot on the weekend. Even if the line said a 10-20 minute wait we walked on to almost all the attractions. Weather was beautiful. We will probably always go back at this time. Stay tuned for my first trip report :wave2:

I hope it is not really busy. But Disney also implemented this preview weekend to attract DVC members and AP holders knowing January was a slower month. It was a good move on their part.

We are going to AK on Sunday when it opens to ride Everest.

Thanks! I'll bet Epcot was more crowded because of Soarin'. I just cannot wait to go again!

When we got to Epcot, I think at about noon it said there was a 100 minute wait for Soarin, but everthing else was under 30. We waited until about 7 PM and there was practically no wait at all. That was a great ride. It is so realistic I was looking for somthing to hold onto. My 5 year old was less scared than me :)

I am at Disney right now, and the crowds are so low! I am loving this so much!! Weather is wonderful - nice and sunny during the day, and got a great rate at my room at POP, too! I walked right upto the front of Space Mountain today at 1:00, even - no wait! Fantasmic wasn't even filled tonight - I walked in 10 minutes before and easily got a seat to the left and front of the stadium. :) :)

Think I found a new favorite week to go! :teeth:
