How are the crowds in December?

I know when we went in 2002 it wasn't bad at all. In fact, DH and I have a picture of just the two of us on Splash Mountain. That day we just kept staying on and riding it over and over again!! :cool1: I am pretty sure that it won't be like that ever again :(, but how was it last year in the 2nd-ish week of December? Thanks in advance!

We went last year in December for the first week and a half. The parks were pretty empty. The longest wait we had was 15 minutes for Space Mountain. Crowds are up this year so you might have a bigger crowd than we did but it should still be very manageable

We went last year during the first week of December and it was very nice, very few crowds and no suprise days (unlike the beginning of Nov. where schools were out in parts of the country and crowds materialized at a shocking rate).
Good luck!

We went last year Dec 5-16 and the parks were EMPTY!! Middle of the day ride times were stated as 10 minutes but took even less. US/IOA was even more deserted, Hulk, Spiderman, and all big rides were all walk on's. Will never go any other time of year. Did MVMCP on the 9th and it was packed, not worth the money in our opinion.
Will be going back to Disney next November 26-December 7th 2006 Cant wait!!!

We last went in December of 2003. It was great the week of 12/14 to 12/21. That is why we are going again this year during roughly the same week, 12/11 to 12/17.

If you look at the who's going lists, the week that I am going is less popular. Also the Best Days site has some pretty great number listed for this week. The only head scratcher for me is why Monday, 12/12 is a 5 and then Tuesday 12/13 is a 3, but I digress.

Good luck with your planning! Maggie

Its a hit and missed when it comes to those Dec dates. I have seen the parks pleasant during those weeks, yet this year it seems non stop crowds. I have been over there for over a week and the crowds were insane! Even EPCOT was jam packed. Wall to wall people.
The Kingdom always seems to be packed no matter when you go.

Ahh, the good old days when there would be slack days and you could hit all your fav rides then go back for more. I truly think those days are gone.

Another issue is weather. I am a Floridian and sometimes those aren't the best weeks weather wise if we get a cold front. OK, now I know its alot warmer compared to up north and no snow but if you are wanting a disney vacation that includes fun in the sun pool/recreation wise these weeks might be a gamble.

We've gone in Dec. for the last few years and there are several things I have noticed. The crowds have gotten much heavier on weekends during Dec.

The other variable is how many days are between Thanksgiving and Christmas. The more days the lesser the crowd level. This year there are more days than last year. :flower:
